NYP New grad position

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hello.

I recently applied for a new grad position at NYP and I got an email saying my app is currently "being considered" for the new grad opportunity and they will "contact me within the next 2 weeks regarding next step/status etc".

Does that mean I have a chance to land an interview, or is it what everyone gets after they apply?

It was not a computer generated email.....but an email from an actual person......

Any feedbacks will be greatly appreciated! Thank you :)

Finally got the battery test! That thing was weird. What's everyone else's status?

NYP is full of crap, I filled out application and I got pass the application procress then when I called they told me only the ones that are qualified. I am not trying say anything but I think they are racist. On the application they ask u if you are black, white or hispanic. Just forget them.

Asking those questions are not discriminatory. Most employers inquire as to race, gender, veteran status and whether you require disabilities accommodations. This is permitted by federal regulations. As per the other thread you started, did you apply for a new grad program?

Queries about ethnic origin are not racist and allowed under Federal law, however IIRC response is voluntary and if you decline to answer it doesn't (or shouldn't) affect your application.

Employers use the data provided to show they are in compliance with various federal and state anti-discrimination laws.

They're just racists against ADN's haha just kidding. In all seriousness, I got through to the phone interview and was denied an interview with the unit manager. They didn't explain why but if I had to guess its because I only have an associates! Just happened to me again with another facility. They called me for an interview, then 2 hours later they had to cancel it cause the recruiter didn't realize nurses need bachelors! I was so upset but not surprised. I kinda expected it! I knew it was too good to be true! I'm not giving up!

hi guys! i was wondering if anyone knew how long you are considered a "new graduate" nurse at NYP. i graduated last may 2012, but have only been working as a RN for 8 months now in a high risk ante/high risk postpartum and GYN surgical floor. I am looking to make the big move to NYP but am not sure if I should still be applying to the new graduate posting or "regular" RN opportunities. Do you absolutely need 1 year to be considered? any information will be helpful thank you

Six months. 12 max. Your 8 months work experience would likely disqualify you. Can you hang on to get the magic 12 months?

Those who passed the battery test and got phone interviews, how did you answer some of the questions. They seemed so tricky to me and difficult.

@jessie25 when I did my phone interview they only asked me two questions about why I want a career opportunity at nyp and why did I choose med surg as my top specialty. It wasn't that intense. So she told me the position available, the time and the campus and asked whether I was interested in it. She told me I will hear back in two weeks to schedule in person interview so I'm waiting. It seems like your interview seemed much intense?
