Hi all
I am now in my last semester of nursing school and I looking into Nclex prep classes such as Helen Feuer or Kaplan... I was wondering if any one has any particular suggestions ....books,etc.

Our school had the Kaplan course so did all their question trainers. Also bought the Q bank. I also worked through NCLEX3500 and a lot of the Saunders CD. Our hospital had the STAT course and did all their questions. I did more than 5000 practice questions all together. I liked the computer, but the books were useful for doing questions when I was away from computers (in the cafeteria at work etc).
A few weeks before the exam I cut way back on the practice questions, though I continued to do some every few days. Instead I went back through all my notes and refreshed my memory.
Must have worked. Passed with 75 questions.
I'd certainly agree with everyone else to take it ASAP. I couldn't because of starting my new job, and the additional wait really raised my stress level and lowered my recall.

I had the HELEN FEUER CD's and I also did KAPLAN. I studied 3 months straight and worked only 1 time every 2 weeks, an 8 hour shift as a CNA. and I also have a baby daughter (at the time 18 months).

hi,
i used kaplan & i also keep getting 50s% but passed the first time with 75 questions. my kaplan instructor told us don't be discouraged if you keep getting 50+% just continue to answer & use the strategies because kaplan question is much harder than the real nclex exam. she also told us to use the white board to slow down so we can think & concentrate to what the question is asking, because some of us tend to be rushing the question to finish or overcome the nervousness we feel.
congrats on passing!
thank you

I'm sorry, but which Saunders book is everyone referring to? Is it the Comprehensive Review: NCLEX-RN Examination? Thanks for the reply.

those questions you are talking about, are they in Kaplan and the Saunders books or something else you have??
I am a nurse but not in USA but will have to take that text you are talking about in a year.
your answers have been very helpful, thank you

I found the Kaplan course to be extremely helpful. I kept getting low grades when I took their online tests and felt like I was gonna fail the NCLEX but passed after 75 questions. I think this happens with many people who take kaplan because my friend also kept getting low grades after the quizzes, but I think they do that on purpose. When I took the NCLEX, I found many, many questions very similar to the questions Kaplan kept drilling in us over and over. So I really feel that w/o kaplan, I wouldn't have passed.
