PVT IS DEAD! Don't try the "new" trick

The PVT was never meant to happen. It was not some trick invented to give us results before the 48 hour quick results were ready, it was a computer glitch that allowed us the peace of mind of finding out early if we most likely passed. Therefore it is no surprise that PV found a way to fix it. Those of us who are already licensed got lucky. New testers are not likely to have that sort of luck.

There is a new trick circulating that basically says you can still get the good popup if you try to pay. There is a problem with this, if you put in your credit card information and it allows you to pay, there is NO REFUND if you actually passed. The PVT was never 100% accurate, and false fails were more prominent than false passes. So if you put in your CC and it takes it, there is around a 5% chance that you passed and you just paid 200$ for an inaccurate trick.

Those in states that allow quick results will have to wait 48 hours. It is 48 terrible mind numbing frightening hours, but it's worth it not to pay for a new registration. Those in states not participating in quick results, you should call your BON after 48 hours and try to re-register on the phone. They should stop you if you passed.

The trick was a sanity saver for thousands, and it is sad to see it go, but it was inevitable that it was going to eventually get fixed.

UPDATE

As of October 2016, many people are still reporting that the PVT TRICK still works.

For the record, I passed! The PVT worked for me when I put my credit card info through it stopped me with the "good pop-up". I can't believe that I went from failing in 77 questions to passing in 77 questions in just a couple of months of dedicated studying. Yay!:D

Kinda seems like a magic number now, doesn't it? :)

I know it's probably silly but I finally gave in and tried the "pvt" thingy a few minutes ago and got the information box that says "our records show that you recently blah blah blah... another test cannot be scheduled at this time" or wording to that effect. Still feeling very anxious. I took the test yesterday at 8 am. But fingers crossed. .. will hate to put my self through that stress all over again!!!

Since you completed your exam more than 24 hours ago....and it's not official, of course.....the PVT can give a pretty decent reassurance to those who find they are unable to register (pay for) another exam.

It's premature, but I'll still offer a quiet congratulations! :)

I took the board two days ago in the afternoon! I went for my second attempt I felt much better than first time prepared!! I got lots Priority questions few sata but I did pvt it took my old credit card I am still waiting for my official results but I am scared now since I did the pvt for first time and took my credit card except it was saying there's problem with my credit card...

RupeshKaushal I found NCLEX pretty hard since I speak two other languages fluently! Its not easy to everyone school you focus at one subject you take exams but NCLEX you focus at everything!!!

Took my NCLEX RN yesterday for my fifth time, and so far according to the tentative PVT and it hasn't been wrong for anyone in my class. I passed. I don't care, I'm doing my happy dance. I had about 26 sata and a major load of priority questions, and I felt like I knew nothing about anything on the exam!!!

Thanks a million! Yea!! It's (unofficially) official.. if that makes any sense...I passed. Paid the 8 dollars and found out for sure. The PVT is definitely not dead.

The PVT is alive and well. Just get a visa gift card for $20 and input the info. If you pass, you get the good pop up. If you don't it declines the card.

.....and don't do it at all for 24 hours, or the pop ups are subject to change, and therefore misleading/meaningless. 24 hours until the exam is scored TWICE.

did u fail ?:/

Mine did too. What does that mean?

What does what mean? You are posting on an old thread without quoting anyone's post....what is it you want to know?
