Why is it that LPN'S are looked down at when taking the NCLEX? Don't they thnk we are capable of passing like traditional folks? What are your thoughts?

I don't understand the question. LPN's take their own version of NCLEX. Who is looking down on them for taking their own exam?

And are LPN's somehow not "traditional folks"?

I feel like LPN's who return back to school and finish and are getting ready to do NCLEX RN are looked down on because they usually don't pass the RN NCLEX the first time like non-LPN nursing students (traditional folks).

I passed the first time for both exams and know more LPNs that have passed the NCLEX the first time, so...

Where are you getting the statistics that says that LPNs do not pass the RN NCLEX the first time? I started as an LPN. The first year of my nursing program everyone finished LPN. The second year was the associate degree for RN. It was from the late 1970s early 1980s, they were called career ladder programs. So everyone finishing the RN was already an LPN. Everyone passed except one person that I know of.

My school required me to take the NCLEX-PN and pass it after my first two semesters. I passed it the first time with 85 questions. I also passed the NCLEX-RN the first time with 75 questions. I'm confused as to why you assume that every LPN that takes the NCLEX-RN has previously failed it?

I passed both LPN and RN first time....

Maybe the OP has experience this and thinks everyone else has experienced this???

OP is Filipino grad, had to read previous posts to make head/tails of the English wording. I know from reading posts here some Philippine grads do take LPN exam in some states while awaiting permission to take NCLEX or dealing with the deficiencies/concurrency issues. Other posts it appears he (he actually uses his name in another post) has enlisted in the Army recently.

I passed both the NCLEX-PN and NCLEX-RN on my first attempts. Then again, my experience goes along with the statistic that 85 percent of American-educated grads pass on the first attempt.

It was my dean who said those stats and I did a generalized unofficial poll among peers and it seemed the same trend was happening.
