Way to go Moving400. You are in my prayers. Please my Dear don't give up ever. YOU WILL PASS.

I agree with PHXRN1 - if you can't write proper English, you have no business being a professional. Your grammar is horrendous. Learn to write and THEN consider a career as a nurse.

Thanx for you honest opinion. speaking politely, I did it in my nursing school means,I'll do it here also.Let me tell you BON will not let any foreign nurse to take RN unless I get my English proficiency score. I did that.BON has given me eligibility. No one can stop me to become a nurse just because my post was not understood by few.

Thank you ,Thank you somuch.please pray for me "for not to be disturbed by some comments which really drive crazy"!!:saint: .pray for me to gather my courage and strength to study and pass.

just passed with my 3rd take. not in the same situation with regarding the kids. but I know you can do it. What i did is read cover-cover saunders book. I went back to the basic and really brushed up my content. Then everything fell into place. Dont give up, you can do this. You are a future nurse.

Congrats bkshadow............

Then my prayers are best placed for the future of nursing in the U.S., and the future care my loved ones may receive. Heaven help them all.

How sad. A person just asks for some help and advice, instead is getting judgmental comments. Are those good nurses? Is this therapeutic communication? It was one of the first and most important topics in nursing schools not to be judgmental, not to use prejudice, racism, ethnocentrism, etc. And here we go. These are nurses that got their licenses, and know English. But unfortunately, they lack heart, and soul.

Just like RNsRWe wrote: " Then my prayers are best for the future of nursing in the U.S., and the future care my loved ones may receive. Heaven help them all."

exactly, no need to be so rude to the lady just cause her english isnt perfect. When you think about nurses, you think of compassion, empathy.aka nice peopel. Unfortunately many RNs do not fit the description at all. I never knew how catty and mean nurse could be until got into nursing school...

Thanks lasynka .whatever you said is correct, those people commented on my post and bad english are really non-therapeutic .Its really surprising to know that such people are called to be nurses in USA.I stopped commenting on this post b'z when people like those are here to discourage you should ignore them.anyway thanks for understanding me.I'mon my way and I'll do it.100% I'm a gud nurse and I will be a proud nurse.Pray for me.

Thanks xaldin4life. when people know that we are foreign nurses they respond like this I guess. Please pray for me.

lasynka, xaldin4life, and moving400:

I think you have misunderstood what's been said about the OP's English skills. it's not "judgemental" to remark that this may be a reason why the OP is having great difficulty in passing the NCLEX, it's an observation (and a realistic one).

Therapeutic communication is a wonderful tool when used with patients. However, the other members here are not our patients. They are either colleages or people who wish to become our colleagues, and we hope to help them. Many of us who are offering our help are NOT seeking new patients, and don't treat the members here as such. We expect them to ask for and receive advice as professionals.

Moving, you have received some very suggestions, both on study tools as well as suggestions to improve your English skills prior to taking the NCLEX again. It isn't said to bash you, and NONE of the comments was in the least bit rude. One person said "at the risk of being offensive" because he or she recognized you *might* take offense, when none was intended. And you did, as it turned out.

I do believe that solid English skills are required in order to handle the NCLEX well. Frankly, when people whose FIRST language is English don't read the questions thoroughly or correctly, it's easy to see how a foreign nurse (foreign language as a first language) can have extraordinary difficulties.

I don't think anyone wants to see you fail a fourth time, wasting time and effort and money all over again, which is why the language suggestions were made. However, if you feel that is completely out of the realm of reasoning as to why you might have failed, then all I can do is wish you luck on choosing a different study pattern or program, and wish you well on a future test.
