U.S.A. Michigan

Hi Everyone! I attend Wayne County Community College District. I was wondering if anyone new anything about WCCCD's nursing program. Do they have a waiting list? If so, how long is the waiting list. Any info given will be helpful. Thanks!

thanks damomma and jwoods for the heads up! sounds like i picked a good one. i'm happy (edit per moderator) a&p i and ii. i have micro online with (edit per moderator) and she's a great teacher and i'm just trying to keep the flow going. some of these classes are hard enough without having a clown for a teacher. well, for those of you who are waiting on your letters, good luck! hopefully, i'll be in the same position this time next year because i'm applying for the fall of 2007.

q5gal, what i would recommend is to keep checking, especially in the first couple of days after school. also, i noticed that you have micro online, do you have (edit per moderator)? i'm asking because i have it as well and i think it may be the only one online this semester. i'm not sure, but let me know. we might be in the same class!

Question, what would be considered a "safe" GPA? If I get an A in my A & P class, I will have a 3.5. If I get a B, I will have a 3.3. Let's not even consider anything lower.....:uhoh21:

hello everyone,

has anyone taken (edit per moderator) for a&p i and ii? i have him this fall and i was just wondering what kind of teacher he is and what his exams are like. let me know....

thanks!

from what i have heard he is an good teacher. of course this means one of two things 1. he is really good or 2. he is easy. now from what i understand he is #2 in that he gives study guides for his tests basically with the answer to the tests. not sure though as i didnt take him, but had a few drop from my a&p2 to get into his a&p2 cause they said my teacher was to hard.

now for that it is good to have hard for this class as the more you learn the better off you are. my teacher was hard but fair and you just had to study to actually know what you were talking about. it has come in handy during my pathophyisology class this semester.

Nope, no study guides at all. He lectures, and test from what he lectures. He is just very clear and exact. I have learned ALOT. I have had teachers that were hard to understand or not organized. Dr. K is easy to understand, and organized. You have to know the information.

It really matter who apply with you...

From what I was hearing around the room most people had about a 3.5-3.6 I would say that would of been the average GPA there. As for SAFE, honestly the only SAFE GPA is a 4.0...in my opinion anyway. Try your hardest to get that A!

I am still waiting on my letter...really if they said LATE July then they are

A S S H O L E S... How are we supposed to adjust and get ready for things if we dont even know we need to until a week or so before the lottery for the classes, where we are supposed to have a BLS certification and Immunization records and what not. AHhhhHAHAHH...:trout:

O well it is what it is!

Well that is good to know because I wasnt sure but thought that is what the girl said to me last semester as she left our class...The teacher I had was very organized as well, she printed out her notes for you so you always had the exact answer but she didnt do multiple choice or anything like that. How are his tests are they multiple choice or are they more fill in the blank or T and F?

Ummm, to day is the 12th.... . What happened to maybe getting the letters on the 13th or 14th? I would even give it till next week! Don't sweat yourself. :roll Okay, please remind me of this post let's say November or December?

Well when you are awaiting your letter like we are, you will get just as anxious to know if you were accepted or denied. I have been watching the mailbox all month, because they said sometime in July the letters would go out, I am aware today is the 12th. I am not the only one who is anxious. There are 300 of us :uhoh3: .

I should add that I called the nursing office today too, she said she was in the process of mailing out the letters, so that is good news. They will be here soon. For everyone who gets theirs, please let us know right away. :balloons:

My girlfriend got her letter today 7-13 and she got in!

She went in with a 4.0 GPA.

My girlfriend got her letter today 7-13 and she got in!

She went in with a 3.7 GPA.

Great news for her!! I did not get mine today :o . I have a 3.3 GPA, hope I got in.

Are you positive she had a 3.7?? I called the nursing office and they said the lowest GPA to get in was a 3.89 GPA. That seems unreal, and I had another person call the Director of Nursing, she said the same thing, the cut off was 3.89

I am so bummed. I have not got my letter yet though, just wanted to see if your girlfriend got in with that. Maybe the school is just saying that??
