Hi Everyone! I attend Wayne County Community College District. I was wondering if anyone new anything about WCCCD's nursing program. Do they have a waiting list? If so, how long is the waiting list. Any info given will be helpful. Thanks!

I received my letter today and I got in! I went in with a 3.9 GPA! I'm soooo happy! Thank you God!

Are you positive she had a 3.7?? I called the nursing office and they said the lowest GPA to get in was a 3.89 GPA. That seems unreal, and I had another person call the Director of Nursing, she said the same thing, the cut off was 3.89

I am so bummed. I have not got my letter yet though, just wanted to see if your girlfriend got in with that. Maybe the school is just saying that??

Unless they went by the institutional points on the transcripts. My institutional GPA was a 3.8.

Your Pre req's were 3.6? I am really confused why they would say that, I do not know what an instituitional point is?

Got mine and Got IN!

I had a 3.8 on the nose with all my credits but a 3.777 with my pre-reqs

Congratulations to all of you who got accepted! PLEASE keep us posted this Fall on how things are coming along.

Congratulations :balloons: , wish you the best. I will keep trying...maybe will get a happy letter tomorrow, maybe not, but I wish all that did get in the best success on their new journey.

Congrats to those who did receive thier letters:balloons: . I know it is nerve racking for those who haven't received thier letters yet. I have my fingers crossed for ya! I guess all the higest GPA got thier letters first off. I remember from the info meeting back in February, they said thier lowest accepting was a GPA of 2.9:uhoh21: . They also said, as long as you make Bs and above, you should be fine. I know I have been busting my orifice trying to make those As, but you win some and lose some. Right now I am :deadhorse over an 86% I got on my A & P exam yesterday:smackingf.

The pressure is building for me. :(

Hello? Any news anyone? :uhoh21:

Hello? Any news anyone? :uhoh21:

Hi there, I did receive a letter today, but not a happy letter. It said the cut off was 3.38 and I had a 3.32. :uhoh21:

I will try again in September, but I did learn something interesting at the school today. It seems our school's nursing program is trying to get accredited by the NLN and that is why they let so many applicants take precendence over Wayne Co. Community students from other schools, and they want the highest GPA's possible. They want the students to score in the high 90's on their state boards for two years straight in order to get that accredidation. It makes sense, but kind of not fair to us that have gone to Wayne Co. all along. I did not hear this from the nursing department, but from an advisor. I called the nursing dept. and they said the highest cut off was 3.89, but my letter said different. I don't know what to believe anymore. I may look in to Surgical Tech and apply later on down the road for Nursing. I will try once again in September, and re do a class I had a C in, then if that is not good enough at 3.7, I will move on. Good luck to everyone.

Sorry to hear that. I was also considering other options if the nursing thing does not work out. If the letter said the lowest was 3.38, then I would believe that before what someone say verbally.

Best wishes to ya

Oh yeah, I wondering, since you were so close, what if someone drops out before August? Can you take the spot? Kinda like alternate spots?

Congratulations to all!!! Good luck!!

congratulations to all who made it in the program! even to the ones who didn't get in, keep ya head up! just remember that tomorrow is another day and there's always next semester.
