Help with Scrub color.

Nurses Men

Published

So I am about to take a CNA class as I believe it would be a great way to get my feet wet when it comes to the basics in nursing (that and it would help in my weighted nursing school application) The class I am taking requires us to wear white scrub pants and a pastel top.

What are some ideas for "pastel" tops when it comes to mens scrub colors. I wast thinking ciel blue????? Kinda girly but still BLUE right? Help!

Not sure what colors would be counted as pastel yet still manly. LOL

Any ideas guys, ladies?

A pale gray would be considered a pastel color.

On second thought, just wear whatever you want and tell them that since you are a male, you aren't that in tune with fashion rules for what constitutes a pastel.

Amen to the pastel rule! i wouldn't follow it since it sort of de-masculinates you. I would think a gray/ceil blue/surgery green would work well! I usually go towards the darker colors (blue, gray, black, green).

I just got a vision of the guys I work with all showing up for a shift in shades of cotton candy pink, lavender, and pale yellow...hilarious.

One of the guys I work with does wear a light blue on occasion...just a smidge lighter than ceil blue (since technically we're not allowed to wear that color on the floor). I'd recommend going with a blue or a grey.

Seems kinda sexist that they require pastel colors though.

Just an observation on my part. The local college here offers a CNA program and I remember reading in their requirements that everyone needs ceil blue scrubs, top & bottom with white shoes. Interesting that your program allows different colored tops as opposed to one uniform color (besides the white bottoms).

The hospital where I volunteer is also one of the sites where these CNAs do clinicals. There must have been a rotation going on this morning, as I noticed a group of ceil blue walk by me and I knew right away who they were. On the men, that color looks just fine.

light blue should be fine. White would stain way too easily

Hey yellow isn't too "girly". I think it's quite neutral. lol

pink...can't go wrong :)

I got great Scrub tops from NURSEJOE.com. I like the Camo tops with either black pants or Kaki Pants that I get from Dickie's. The company was very good to deal with. I'll be going back for more. No way am I gonna wear puppy dog or pink.

Pastel sounds sexist or metrosexual. Pick a color that works for you, call it a pastel, and show up in that. It's not your fault if you don't know what a pastel is. What is that anyway?

I'd personally just find another CNA program.

just wear a pink top, believe me, they will change the rule fast. it doesn't sound like the program you're in is up with the times and needs a reality check.
