- May 26, '12 by Ruas61Yes, ours does. Certain felonies and sexual crime convictions are an automatic decline.
- May 26, '12 by DizzyLizzyNurse10 years of LTC experience and I've never heard of that, too. But I've thought it should be done. But then what would we do with the people who didn't pass?
- May 26, '12 by Ruas61We have had declined sexual offenders who are registered and serious felonies like murder, body harm. There has to be a line somewhere. Of course, my population isn't entirely old gerenic but youngersort.

God only knows that's like the Black Mark of Death.
One a resident comes to us, we have a heck of time finding them placement. - May 26, '12 by Patti_RNGeez, I'd never have thought that LTC facilities would do backgrounds on their residents! But, after that horrible assult on another resident, it sounds like the facility should be in big trouble for NOT doing one. The 71 year-old's lawyer is probably having a field day

Do we need to apoligize for that?
Don't pass judgement till you know the facts, Otherwse you're talking out your assumptions.Last edit by Ruas61 on May 26, '12 : Reason: spelling - May 27, '12 by CapeCodMermaidI've worked in many faciliites. In 3/4 of them we did background checks on a prospective resident. We usually only checked the sex offender registry.
