Does it bother you

Nurses LPN/LVN

that student LPN's post here? Honestly.

I notice on the general student board- posters focus mainly on RN students, who are in a college setting and not on us who are an vocational school. Perhaps if it bothers anyone- they could make a student LPN board so we have a place to discuss our process- specific to us.

I like posting here and reading about issues that we may face in the future but don't want to step on toes.

I usually don't read the student threads so I guess it doesn't really bother me all that much. However to be honest, I get annoyed seeing all the millions of posts about taking the NCLEX and people wondering if they passed and how worried they are about studying or passing. I mean they are overkill sometimes there has to be at least a hundred of those on here.

Yup, the "OMG, did I pass" post get repetative.

Also, I don't mind the odd post from a poster asking for help but we're not the homework hotline. So don't post asking for info right away because I've an assignment due. The same goes for how do I do this or the other. Your class should have covered it as should the textbooks.

the posts from LPN students don't bother me at all. that's why we access this web site is to discuss our concerns or worries , questions with others. I am a RN and try to help both LPN or RN students the best i can. it maybe a good idea to have a thread for LPN students only .. that way you can go right to that thread and ask questions and not have to search in other threads for your answers. i wish you luck in school , take care.

Actually, having an LPN/LVN student forum is a really great idea. After all, our concerns, issues, focuses, and NCLEX are different than the ones faced by students in a traditional RN program.

I definitely plan to bring this to the attention of this site's administration to see how well they receive the idea. Thanks for your suggestion!

I think having a LPN student section is a good idea but I sure don't mind them posting here either.

I personally would love it if there was an LPN student forum. I am new to the board and I checked out the student forum. I did not feel comfortable posting there because I really didn't find many other LPN students.

After reading many posts..in several forums....I kind of felt some not so nice attitudes towards LPN's. I hope I didn't step on any toes posting a pre exam question. I just wanted to share my excitement about starting school with others who respect the choice to become an LPN versus an RN. Either career choice is rewarding and I certainly respect RN's but I don't want to be belittled for my choice of one over the other.

Have a great holiday weekend :)

Please check out the new LPN/LVN Nursing Student forum

to the OP. This is after all, an LPN/LVN corner. and actually, I like posting here for some odd reason. Yes, I do agree with some posters that the "OMG, I passed" does get a bit annoying, but I think they do that because they feel so elated that they passed and they just want to post. Same thing goes for NCLEX-PN; people are worried about and unsure, so they post to vent. We r all here on allnurses to help each other. I'm an LPN student myself and I find here that I fit right in. I never actually posted on the student forum though.

I would like to say that the posts regarding NCLEX (PN, RN, passing, failing, or waiting for results), have NEVER offended me. I am just sorry that I can't respond to them all! I know we can all relate to the panic and fear engendered by the boards, even if we only had to take it once. I have NEVER forgotten, and I took it in 1982. Maybe there are students trying to get help with homework, but I believe most people are genuinely looking for answers, and hoping to learn from more experienced nurses (yes, it's ok, all you diehard skeptics may have a laugh at my expense).

you are very kind.

i hope the people who passed the nclex still remember how it felt like the next time they see someone posting about nclex. i know when they post their anguish over the nclex in this forum, all they want is an avenue for them to get support because it really helps and this forum/website is good for that.
