Our Thanksgiving isn't until November 28th here in the USA!

Same as Americans as far as I know: turkey, mashed potatoes, yams, vegetables, pumpkin pie...Mmmmmm....

It ain't any less of a Thanksgiving because it's Canadian!
Happy Thanksgiving to all! Anyone score the long weekend off? I'm not so lucky, Have Sunday night and Monday off, though. Again (for the 3rd year in a row) I can't make it to the family Thanksgiving dinner, so I'm doing the token strait chick thing at my friends house. He makes a mean turkey.
Enjoy!
P.S. I've never had Yams before for Thanksgiving dinner.

Hi Cheerfuldoer, Fergis's description of her T-day dinner was different from mine. Neither my daughter nor I care for turkey. We went with "Montreal Tortiere" (a meat pie, kinda like a pasty, if you're familiar with that), which is a regional dish from Quebec, plus baked stuffed tomatoes and steamed broccoli. We did opt for the traditional pumpkin pie for dessert, although we also went with mango ice cream.
I've managed to luck out after 36 years in nursing. My department is open Mon-Fri, 0630 to 2230, and closes on statuatory holidays. Ah, the benefits of being a member of the "over 50 club". LOL
