We're coming to the end now. Graduation is in plain sight. Three final exams down, one to go. Things are getting pretty real now with our preceptorships starting next week. Mine is in the CVICU. I had to go for the challenge... couldn't be satisfied with med surg. I must admit to having my doubts and hope I don't break into a nervous dripping sweat, my cardinal sign of anxiety which is oh so embarrassing.

Any thoughts to share?

Oh yeah, BTW ... I broke a sweat once during my preceptorship, and I have 3 or 4 times since starting my job in the ER. Nobody noticed or cared! :rolleyes:

Hey, the "never let 'em see you sweat" was just a commercial! Don't take it to heart! LOL

I'm sure they are used to nervous students, so it's ok.

Yeh... I'd be sweating, too! Forget the "perspiring".. I'd be sweating buckets.:chuckle

But remember, this IS a preceptorship.. you'll have the support you need.

Good Luck...I start in Oncology next week. I'm excited...my perceptor seems to be really nice. I'm sure I'll be doing alot of sweating too... LOL

Fun! I'm thinking of requesting ICU next spring for my preceptorship. We get a TON of PCIs up there, which I find so interesting.

I only got to go to ICU one day but it was very interesting and I think I'd try to get that for preceptorship if I weren't going for L&D.

I'll be right behind you.. starting preceptorship sometime around March 20.

CVICU is a great place! I am in the SICU right now and love it. I am seriously considering the ICU. WHo knows though! I am sure you'll be fine--you'll have plenty of help. I graduate in May and am terrified to actually be out on my own as a nurse! :uhoh3:
