What brand/type of shoe should I get? - page 2

Hi, I just started my first job as an RN - It's on a med/surg floor - and I was just wondering what you have found to be the most comfortable shoe/sneaker to wear. The sneakers I have are killing me... Read More

    Crocs!!! Definitely!
And you can put an additional insert/support inside of them.
My feet feel so great at the end of the day!

I wear Nike Air with arch support inserts from Dr Scholl. My feet dont hurt at the end of the shift, and neither does my lower back.
I recently (on whim) bought some frocs (fake crocs!) and put the arch support inserts in them to see how my feet would do. They dont hurt, and while wearing the shoes, I feel like I am walking on cloud!!! I went back and got 2 more pairs in different colors.

:spin: It really depends on your feet. For me its AVIAs at home and K Swiss at work. I have almost flat feet and my feet will expand during the 12.5 hours shifts I work. The K Swiss breath and allow for expanding as the day goes on. I can't wear Crocs, Nike or NurseMates. Best bet is to actual shop for your next pair and make it at the end of the day (be active that day or go after work) and wear the type of socks you will wear while at work. You will find the best fit that way.

Just to add another brand into the mix of our favorite shoes..

I have an addiction to Easy Spirits. When I wear them, I feel like I am walking on a cloud - no painful feet for me after a 12 hour shift.

To the OP: You need to try on many different pairs before you'll be able to make a decision about what is best for you.

I used to simply love my $115 Dansko's (they NEVER wear out) till I got a dandy case of planter fasciitis!!!!!!!!!! Friend of mine introduced me to Crocs and "nothingz" (a croc knock-off that feels like you are walking on a springboard!!)!! Now, you won't find me wearing anything else.....unless it's my ropers for work around the ranch!

I tried Birkenstock Boston's 9 years ago and haven't found anything as comfortable.

they made us stop wearing crocs with holes in the top at work recently so I am looking for a pair of shoes that will equal their comfort.

Crocs have a professional line, no holes on the top. Would you be able to have those? Check out their website and look for the professional ones.

I LOVE my Crocs. Never thought I could find this much comfort in a reasonably priced shoe!

I wear Dickies' "Allie" with a Triad insert. They are very light and very comfortable. Cheap too. Only problem is sometimes they're hard to keep on when walking backwards. (I know that sounds stupid, but we all know it sometimes has to be done.) Click on the link below for a picture of them. They come in different colors too.
