I am proud to be a Health Unit Coordinator. I was a CNA until my back gave out, stifling any thoughts of patient care. I work on a Peds unit and absolutely love what I do... and am very proud to be one of the best at my hospital. It kinda bugs me when people say... "gee.. you're smart enough to be a nurse..." especially since most units at the hospital would rather go down a nurse than be without a Health Unit Coordinator.

RN or LPN??
What is the point of this question? Both categories are nurses according to the State Board of Nursing.

Aw, s/he's just curious about fellow posters. Go with it :)
My login name makes my license obvious, I think
But who I am? Much tougher to answer, friend.....and when I'm 100% sure of the answer, I'll let ya know!

Oh I have my patented answer to "what kind of nurse are you ?"
Answer: "Why yes I am, why do you ask."
I can be as dense as they are., so that answer with at totally mystified look and NOTHING else works all the time.

Hey Jenny.
My mom was a health care coordinator in an E.R. for over 20 years. And she is extemely 'smart' in the nursing field.....but was very happy doing what she was doing. She is still on the ball with health care issues for family and friends.....don't worry about what people say. If you are happy with whatyou do , you are 100 paces in front of the rest of people dragging their butts to jobs they hate.:icon_razz:
