I play online poker. It helps me forget about work and teaches me a lot of valuable lessons about winning, losing, risk, trying, succeeding, failing, etc.
While at work, I tend to approach stress relief intellectually. I try to understand the sources of the problems, why people are acting the way they are, etc. Understanding why troublesome situations are the way they are -- and trying to see things from other people's points of view -- helps me to avoid being angry at my coworkers. Of course, sometimes that fails and then I find a friend and rant and rage to vent.

#1 Rule is to change it up! If you're in the same routine, you'll still feel stress.
You gotta get away, take a mini vacation, go camping or just hiking in the great outdoors. Something to take your mind off the daily grind, you'll come back with a new outlook.

My stress doesn't start till I get home, so coming to work usually relieves it!

Thank you all for your suggestions. In nursing school and working as a paramedic I am the most stressed out I have ever been and it stinks!

The best way to deal with stress is time management. You should also try to organize yourself and plan ahead. Food is never a good way to deal with stress because you will create another problem that will cause more stress to your heart.

So you will either end up with cirrhosis or a finely toned body. Hmm.

Hot tub on the back porch, snow gently wafting down around me, cold drink on the side, good book, watching Orion move across the sky.:smiletea2:
