I'm doing the happy dance!!! I finished my very first Point Point presentation. All those PP presentations I've seen at inservices and whatnot at work, now I know how they do it. It's called "Nursing Theory, Research and Practice: Putting It All Together". Exciting topic huh?

Sorry, but had to brag that I taught myself and completed my first power point project. :thankya:

The one thing that frustrated me was I wanted to create my own graph/model with circles and arrows and got stuck and it was taking to much time. It took over six hours to research and write it.

Now to bribe three RNs to listen to it in person and send an evaluation into my instructor. But there are enough RN to BSN students at work I can do a "I'll scratch your back, you'll scratch mine" situation with and highjack them for a few minutes to listen to it. :rotfl:

Congrats!!!! I had to learn to do it last year for a class. Cool thing to learn but a lot of work isn't it?

:balloons: congrats! once you get the hang of it , you will love it..i do almost all of my projects and presentations on pp. hint..when i do a chart or graph i do it on word and then scan it into my pp. that way when i make a mistake i can fix it without messing up the whole dang thing!!

Awesome job Tweety!

I'm jealous. I just hope I don't have to do that for my BSN program hehe. Anyway, glad to hear it went well for you.

Specializes in Urgent Care.

That's awesome! We learned it in my advanced communications class, and I found out at my sons kindergarten orientation that they now teach it to kids in the SECOND grade!! Crazy isn't it??

Or...you could find a free website, upload your presentation, and grace the rest of us with your nursing wisdom.... :)

Tweety that is my next class that starts on Sunday. So I know who to come to when I have a ?

CONGRADULATIONS :balloons: :)

Good luck with the rest of the class. It looks like the next 5 weeks are going to be rough. Give me an average of how long you need to work on each project. I may have to increase my time with the baby being at the sitters.

I also am taking business communications. So I will have to figure that into account.

Also the classes are only 5 weeks long. Very accelerated. They are usually 12 wks. any advice and help would be appreciated. Especially with time so I can increase my sitter time if needed.

Thanks so much

Thanks everyone for sharing my enthusiasm. I was a bit full of myself because I was so happy to have it finally finished!

Achoo, glad to hear my computer skills are at a 2nd grade level! LOL

Angie, it's very elemetary, and I'd be happy to share it, but don't know about the free sites to download pp. Also, since I presenting it to coworkers, Immade it specific to my place of employment, and it has my name, and unit we work on it, better not send that out to cyber space. Plus, some evil students might copy it and claim it for their own...yeah right.

Angelia, only two more weeks, two more papers in this class. It's accellerated at 8 weeks, the Chemistry just started, as they've expaned it to 10 weeks. There is one semester where I take three 5 week courses back to back, but they aren't nursing. All the nursing courses are accellerated to 8 weeks, and I can't imagine any more accellerated than that.

This RN to BSN has been quite the learning experience, and this is only my first course of oh...about 18 or so. :)

In that case, I certainly understand. I did my first PP presentation on a group nutrition assignment. It was as boring as it sounds... I kinda got hung up on marasmus vs kwashiorkor. Glad that it was a loooooooooooooong time ago.
