I have heard that the flu has afflicted the Southeastern states especially hard this season.

Luckily, I have not had the flu in nearly 12 years. No one in my family or circle of friends and acquaintances has had the flu this season that I am aware of. I work at a nursing home and am not aware of any patients or coworkers who have become sick with the flu.

Your subject line...........ouch!

Did it enter yo coccus?

I don't know anyone who has had the flu this season. I have not had it in 30+ years.

It's hit the central Florida area pretty bad. An 8 year old girl passed about 2 weeks ago from Flu in the Orlando area. Flu shots are very readily available even at the local fire departments. I made sure my family had thiers this year and hope no one developes it at home.

In Tennessee we have 5 county school systems closed due to the flu.

i take it you mean your son had vaccine and still got the flu. it is a unfortunate fact that not all strains around this year are in the flu shots. they are going to have to update the vaccine for fall of '07. hope he is feeling well soon.

Yep, Enza camped out with me for a couple of days - even with the flu shot.

I'm convinced it was the flu because it hit like a freight train, stopped my head up, gave me a mild productive cough, and made me FEEL like I'd been hit by a freight train - mild chills, a low fever, aches.

No cold ever felt like that.

Fortunately I was only bad for one day, and I only missed a psych clinical, which my CI and my professor were both fine with. I literally slept for about 26 hours (I came home off the floor on Tuesday at 3 and felt AWFUL by five) - almost straight - and felt like a new person the next day. I stayed home Wednesday but went to class Thursday and Friday. The weekend was completely exhausting for me (again, it clued me in to it having been the flu); I could hardly do anything without feeling completely winded. Yesterday was the best I'd felt in a week.

She's making her rounds in our class as I speak.

I have a nasty ugly cough brewing. I have not been sick w/this many bugs in one season in years. I am so tired of this.
