What is the oldest and youngest new mother you have seen? How old do you feel is too old to have children? Just curious after reading about the woman who just delivered at 60 years of age.

Did you say 23rd baby???? Did she ever get OUT of the bed besides to eat, use the restroom and go to the hospital? LOL. Not that I am judging, but that's a lot of kids. God bless those with that much courage because 3 was all I could handle....

God Bless???

I don't think so. Just who do you think is SUPPORTING these kids?

Dad? I'm sure he's one of many sperm donors.

Mom? On what? Can't be holding down a job, she's too busy being PREGNANT!

Third guess gets the golden ring!

YOU and ME.

These women make me sick. :angryfire

You're making quite a few assumptions there. A few posts down, there was more info on this woman with 23 kids. Highly religious, living on an isolated island.

You said, "These women make me sick. :angryfire " ...with no mention of men. It takes two.

And "These women" in posts 3, 12, 13, 15, 16, 19, 22 and 23 DON'T make you sick? Or am I making another assumption? Or are you?

And frankly, I could care less if she was highly-religious and living on the head of a pin. IF she is their SOLE support (and taking absolutely nothing from the government) that is STILL out of control breeding for ANYONE, religious or not.

I was not referring to the other women. I was referring to your post which appears to directly address that woman with 23 children in Scotland.

And no, none of these women "make me sick." Irresponsible women and men who bring children into the world when they should not - they frustrate me.

I WAS referring to the other women. And we will simply have to agree to disagree. They make me sick.

How sad for some of these young girls. I'm not a nurse yet, but I used to teach school, and my first year teaching, I had a student who got pregnant by her mom's boyfriend. She was in the 7th grade. The boyfriend was arrested, but he got out on bail the same day thanks to the girl's mom. Social services told the mom that if she let the guy near her kids again (she had 4) that they would take her kids from her. She told them to go ahead and come get them because the wasn't going to give up her boyfriend just because her daughter was a whore. My student miscarried. She was such a sweet girl too. Too sweet for a mother like that. Fortunately, she was able to get out of the situation and go live with her grandparents who loved her and were "normal."

Sounds like a Jerry Springer episode to me.

I have nothing against the mom in Scotland. As long as she is not being coerced. And the "State" isn't paying for it.

Youngest was 12 but she had a miscarriage at 10. Her sister was 11 and preggers. Mom was oh so happy.

Oldest . . . well, probably me! At 43. :monkeydance:

Here in CA there was a woman in her 60's who gave birth last year. Very nice couple.

I'm more upset with the young "babies" having babies than the older folks. And the women who get preggers on purpose for the $$.

What did the state/cps have to say about this situation? It seems to me that if the girl was pregnant at 12, miscarried at 10 AND her sister was pregnant at 11, Child Protective Services would/should step in and snatch them away from Happy Mom.

They were involved . . . . this was in clinical 10 years ago so I have no idea what ended up happening.

Weird . . .they are in their 20's now.

Is a 10 year-old's pelvis able to birth a 7 lb infant? I find that so shocking! When i was 10, I thought you could tell the number of times a person had had sex by the number of children they had- and there was no way I was ever going to do it...it sounds like those kids were abused...

My daughter is almost 11 and I cannot imagine her being pregnant. She has not even started puberty yet. I know some of the girls in her class are very developed, but that is still not right. Just imagine that 11 year old mom will only be 16 when her kid goes to kindergarten!

The oldest I have seen is 52, the youngest 12 when she got pregnant, 13 at delivery.

I work in a smallish community hospital, so we don't see too many extremes. The youngest was in Oklahoma, age 11. (sick and sad). Eldest was 47, 2nd family with new hubby. I was so happy for her!

I hear from colleagues up in the city, they see over-50 ladies (usually via IVF) having babies VERY often!

Good for them!
