Johnson and Johnson has supported nursing education for years, they provide scholarships through some kind of a program they have for nurses. It is a bit annoying, but whats more annoying is my wife singing it to me for several minutes after the commercial has aired...and yes, she knows she is being annoying.
Oh my gosh. Don't watch much tv but did see AND hear it once. Can't remember the jingle. But every morning before work at 0430 in the gym, I see it on the minions of tvs there. Actually, when I see it before work...I think...heck yeah, "Hey everyone....watch this!! SOMEONE in this world is happy to have us around!!!!!!".....there are times of the month when it actually brings a little tear to my eye......GOSH.....just realized how corny I really am. I think it's kinda nice to have a huge (perhaps also corrupt, ugh) company of any kind rooting for US!
I dislike those ads because to me they are schmaltzy and patronizing. In my opinion, they really emphasize the angel of mercy aspect of nursing and minimize the technical and intellectual side (the side about which the public seems to be perpetually ignorant).
It's great that J&J provides financial support for nursing programs and students and it's entirely logical and appropriate for the corporation to run advertising about the profession and J&J's support for it. I'm all for positive attention for nurses and the nursing profession. However, I'd be very happy to never see one of those particular ads again. Yeesh.

Does anyone else hate them as much as I do?
That stupid jingle: "You're a nurse. You make a difference."
I mean, could it be more corny and condescending?
Also, why is Johnson & Johnson running a nursing ad anyway? Anyone know?
