I got a kiss!

And it made my day. I have been serving dinner trays to this resident for a while now and has not had much reaction until yesterday. This resident who is always pleasant, sometimes 'with it' and sometimes not would always smile and jabber incoherently just out of the blue just asked me if she could give me a kiss and she really meant it, so I let her plant one on my cheek. Maybe she was happy with the food on the tray but it was a startling surprise and it made my day!:nuke:

I know what you mean-I was pulled from my unit last week but went up after my shift to check something out. Many of the residents told me they missed me or asked me where I had been all day.I didn't think they ever noticed-but even my 98 yr old LOL asked me where I had been...I was so tickled.Something so seemingly in-significant really makes it all worthwhile, doesn't it? Someone posted a thread regarding never receiving positive feedback from the PTB-this kind of thing from the residents is all I need....

:redpinkhe How nice!

It sure makes up for the grouchy ones (not too many of those, thank God!)

That is what I loved most about working in LTC. (It sure wasn't my CNA salary lol). The vast majority of the residents were extremely sweet. Everyday I'd get a few kisses, tons of hugs, and quite a few "I love yous." Made up for some of the nasty coworkers.

I got a big, slobbery kiss from one of my babies last night, right before she reached down my scrub top and grabbed my chest hair....
