Best Lotion for cracked hands?

I will be working in the NICU, so I know my hands will become dry from all the washing. Anyone have some suggestions for great hand lotions?

I use Dionis Hand Cream. It has goats milk in it and I buy it at Cracker Barrel

There are two that have worked very well for me. One is Cornhuskers lotion, as a couple of others have recommended, and the other is Bag Balm.

I also like aquaphor cream not the thick stuff in the tube (unless hands are really cracked). I also like to use Suave.

My fingers and thumbs were getting in horrible shape because of constant hand washing and gloving. I finally started to carry a small tube of Eucerin w/me and would re-lotion as often as I could between pts, to help retain moisture at work, and then at night, just before I roll over to go to sleep, I put a big glob of Neutrogena Norwegian Formula (the thick stuff) on and rub it in really well...works great for me.

But after reading through this thread, I think I may try to add the olive oil sugar scrub once in a while. I'm diabetic, so it's very important for me to keep my fingers from cracking and getting in bad shape in the first place.

The best lotion I have found is by the bath and body store called"Look ma new hands" I just love this stuff! It has a nice citrus smell and has paraffin in the lotion that really repairs any cracks, abused hands that inflict from frequent washings. It is a little pricey 12.00 for a small tube but well worth it.

My mom, an RN, swears by Dove Cream Oil Lotion (at home, of course, not at work because it is petro based). I don't find it makes a difference for me.. my hands are still quite dry and cracking. Corn huskers seems to work best for me.

My daughters hands has been so dry because of the cold weather. In fact, it looks like she has alligator skin. So my husband picked her up some Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Skin Therapy Cream and this stuff is so good! After a few uses her hands are so soft. I have now started using it as well!

I love Aquaphor at night before bed, or on new tattoos (they heal twice as fast and don't peel nearly as much). I use Avon Silicone Glove at work before I get started for the day. But...since the hospital changed to a different alcohol hand wash, my hands don't get nearly as dry and cracked as they used to. We have Purell foam now and it's made all the difference.

I think someone already mentioned this and I know this is an old thread but its a cream called "Udderly Smooth" its got a cow themed package and there are a few different kinds of products available from the company but the most common cream is actually a foot cream but it works great for both hands and feet because its not too greasy has a nice simple smell and heals cracks on both hands and feet. It was originally made for dairy cows and I figure if its good enough for dairy cows than its good enough for me.

i like to use plain old cocoa butter in the tube. it works great and it's cheap. i apply a few times at work each night right after washing with soap/water, but i apply it to the top of my hands (not palms) and rub it in using top of my hands only. i don't ever really have an issue with my palms getting dry.
