Are there any ADN progams that do not give points for bachelors? It seems like almost every ADN program gives extra points for bachelors

What are these points you speak of? I have never heard of it - most ADN programs I know of do not require a pre-existing Bachelor's.

ADN programs have given extra "points" for previous degrees for a while now, although it does seem as though it's become effectively a requirement for admissions in some programs given the number of applicants with a previous bachelors. It's pretty unlikely if not simply impossible to get into many of the ADN programs in my area without a bachelor's degree, although varies by region. If you're having trouble getting into a program in your area without a bachelor's then you might consider widening the geographic area you're looking in.

Interesting. I've never heard of this.

To answer your question, I imagine that the VAST majority of ADN programs do not give extra points or preference to applicants with a previous bachelor's degree. I looked at almost a dozen ADN programs in WA, and none cared.

How many points do they award? I wouldn't think it would be any more than 1. I don't think mine awarded any extra points for a previous bachelors. That was a few years ago, but I didn't have one and had no problem getting in.

Can you not just do it on grades and entrance exam alone?

I'm sure it depends on the program. The one I applied to counted GPA of prerequisite classes, TEAS test result and grade in A&P1. That's it. It was of the state community colleges program.

I didn't get any extra points for having a BS, but I did get points for the grades I got in those classes and points for having completed pre-reqs before applying to the program.

ADN programs around me offer an extra 10 points for a bachelors! So unfortunately those without a bachelors have a very hard time catching up on those points if they don't have a good amount of volunteer hours and also related work experience. There seems to be a point category for everything at schools around me!
