Nurses General Nursing

One of my coworkers put a sign on my back with that on it. I tried to keep a good sense of humor about it and laugh. But after everyone, including family members, and the supervisor laughed at me, I didn't think if twas funny.

Just in case you didn't know, and in good fun you like to do such things to your coworkers. 1) They really don't think it's funny & 2) It's unprofessional.

Yes, I think I've decided I'm going to quit.

ho ho ho, last time I had a good laugh like that was in Kindergarten! and that is where you coworkers belong to!

Get out of there asap!

Oh dear,

Confession time. Many moons ago while working in a produce dep't I did that same juvenile trick on my boss. Eeek.

I wrote "If you're happy and you know it slap my face"

I was mad and frustrated in general, won't go into details but no excuse. I was a stupid teenager.

The worst part was 2 minutes after slapping the sign on, the PRESIDENT of the company walked in for an unannounced tour of the store. He laughed and walked over to my boss and said "Your workers don't like you very much do they?"

Boy did I learn my lesson.

:imbar

Quite the bunch of sophisticates, your co-workers. And let's not forget their rapier-like wit.

What a bunch of assclowns. I'm sure there has to be a hospital in your area that hires grown-ups, isn't there?

Specializes in Med-Surg, Trauma, Ortho, Neuro, Cardiac.

Thanks guys, I was feeling a bit peeved at that, but time to move on. renerian, it's come to light the last several weeks that I'm not happy. It's not the job, the stress, or management. Lately it seems to the the "team". I'm trying to look at myself and my part in it. But, I doubt I earned a sign on my back.

Brita, I did not go into patients rooms with it on thank God. The family saw me at the nurses station. I wasn't nurse ratchet last night and let visitors stay as long as they wanted to after visiting hours.

Sigh......

OK if you're 12 and in junior high...not OK when you're an adult. I would definitely start looking for other employment. Maybe they will do it to a patient next...haha....not....

Specializes in ORTHOPAEDICS-CERTIFIED SINCE 89.

Y'know....your "coworkers" seem to be on the opposite team....the OFFENSE.

Drop them STAT, and find a new field to play on where they play fair.

first off applaud them for their creativity (sarcasm) secondly tell them exactly how unprofessional, stupid, juvenile, idiotic, moronic (insert more adjectives at will) putting that sign on you was and inform them that you will be taking it to your superior. Hey I have as good a sense of humour and fun as anyone but to do that when they knew patients and families would see it was just wrong, plain and simple...

I hope you move on to a happier place, greener pastures if you will, but be sure to tell those losers at work to grow the hell up as youre making your big exit scene!

Specializes in Specializes in L/D, newborn, GYN, LTC, Dialysis.

these idiots are nurses? can you honestly believe the family and patients were amused? i would tell them this will not be repeated or a formal complaint and incident report will be filed. it made all of you look like fools.....mostly your coworkers, than you! UGH.

Sorry but I really can't write what I really think of these asses. Unbelievable what people do and during the Holidays no less...your way too good for this place I hope you put you notice in asap and find a place that can appreciate everything you have to offer :o

What kind of morons do you work with anyway? Geeze, and I thought MY co-workers were childish.
