Drug testing most often done post job offer made and facility physical being done. In nursing homes, it may be done at orientation.

I'm not even 100% certain what the OP is asking..... are you asking if a CNA were to fail a drug test given during orientation, would their certification be taken away? In most states I'm pretty sure the answer is yes, and they would also lose the job.

I think the OP is on drugs right now.

If you talk like your typing during the orientation, they will for sure test you.

Edit: I mean, "Your Friend"

I gotta say.....I get really tired of these questions.

Drug users do not belong in nursing. Period. Go away and let those of us who aren't dopeheads do the care.

I am not sure if the said person would lose their license, it has never been a concern for me to worry about since I do not use drugs. If they are tested and test positive can be pretty sure they will lose the job, most jobs screen their applicants before orientation, better not to waste money or resouces on someone who they do not feel meets the criteria of the job. Some prescription drugs may show up on a drug test and give a false positive, most of the time one would inform the place that is doing the drug testing of any prescriptions that they may be on and provide the necessary documentation that is needed.

I don't know about your CNA cert but you would probably have the job offer withdrawn.

We were told (and it is in our text) that drug use is grounds for losing your license. When asked if one positive screen proves abuse the instructor said "No. However it shows you committed a crime by using an illegal substance." Take that for what it is worth, I suppose. Either way, your "friend" should get their priorities straight.

How is this even a question? Most places require drug testing, and will not hire you if the test comes up positive.

Tell your friend to quit doing drugs.

"Well ur cna l be taken if u feel a drug test at ur orientation iam askin for a friend.."

Oh, absolutely. Tell your friend to keep doing his drugs, it's HIS body, and totally his right to do whatever he wants on his time off. It's not like he's being paid at home to NOT do drugs, right? And make sure he shows up to work stoned....truly, it's a mark of his independence that will surely move him up the ladder of success.

If anyone tries to fire him for substance abuse, well, you just tell them that he can't be denied his civil rights. You know this because you read it on the internet.

Cheers! ;)

Am I the only one who finds it hilarious that the only word they got right was also the biggest one, orientation? Lol
