Hello fellow pre nursing students. My counselor gave me the option to either take 2 science class's/semester to be finished within 1 year at my Community College or one science class/semester and get done in 2 years (2016).
Next semester i would have to take Anatomy (5units) and Chem 108 (4units) on top of ASL II (3units) and a coop (1unit).
On top of have a 4 year old and doing my housewife duties. My husband gets home around 3pm so i don't know if i should take on 2 science classes on top of a language class in one semester.
As much as i would love to get out of this school and transfer, since i've been her for 1 1/2 years already! I still need to to know if it's possible to take on these class with a little child and a husband. I don't work I attend school full time. I also don't want to get a bad grades in these class So torn on what class to sign up for. Please give any advice or input.
Also, I've heard from one friend to take anatomy first then chem, but my other friend said take chem then Anatomy. If i decide to only take one science class which do you advise to take first.
PLease Help:nailbiting:

Is science a strong suit of yours? I struggled with my science courses and I personally never took more than one science course during the semester. If you believe you would be able to keep up with all of your classes, I say go for it. If there may be any doubt in your mind about being able to take on all the courses, then I would say take it easy and take on what you only can take on at this time. If you decide to take one science class, I would probably take chemistry along with your ASL course. I struggled with anatomy, but if you enjoy learning about the body systems and the pathophysiology behind it, perhaps you'll be more successful than I was.
Ultimately, the decision is yours. Are you driven enough to get it done and be successful? Do you think you can take all 3 classes while taking care of your daughter? I have seen classmates who were pregnant, had their baby while enrolled, and still graduated on time. I am a strong believer that if you believe in yourself, you can do anything.
Best of luck.
Yeah,I guess i wanna know if its possible you know? Has it been done before and with a good outcome?? Just so unsure right now

I always bet against taking two science courses together, unless all you do is study. They are important classes!
I agree with taking chem first. Anatomy is a complete shock - so I wouldn't do chem and anatomy together at all!!!!

I also agree with taking chem first. In my opinion, it's better to take fewer courses at a time and do really well in them (even though it takes a little longer) than to take too many all at once, struggle, withdraw, or possibly get a bad grade and then have to retake the course.
Taking two sciences together is really tough, especially if you haven't taken a lecture with lab before. But if you are really good at science, then go for it!

You can do it if your husband and other family will help with child care to give you time to study and to make sure you can make it to classes and labs even if your child is sick or your husband has to work overtime.
As a mom you'll often have to get up before your family (I'm talking 4am) or stay up after they've gone to bed to get uniterrupted study time.
Thank you ladies :) I really appreciate all of you feedback.

I took 2 science courses along with 2 other courses each semester along with a 1 year old and 3 year old. It was just about time management. I also have a very supportive husband and mom so when I fell behind I was able to spend a day catching up.

Ooh yes, I already do that!! I've been going to school for the last 1 1/2. I'm always up till 1 am doing HW:eek: HAHA. That is all i do already i'm taking 12 units this semester. I normally only take 9 units, but they are not science classes so it's not so bad. But It is hard with a baby and husband to feed and keep the house clean, Sometimes i feel selfish to ask him to help and wash the dish's and make dinner since he works 10 hrs days 5 days a week and i didn't work this semester since i signed up for 12 units.. :/ I'm just so anxious to get this done with! Ive been in school for 2 years already! :/
Amber, which science classes did you take together. since some ppl are saying not to take anatomy and chem together. i don't want to mess up and have to drop and retake. I had a bad semester once and totally wasted it since i had to spend the following summer retaking my sociology and then sprind retaking my statistics and last english class. I have no room for errors so to speak.

I advise against taking two sciences in one semester. I'm taking A&P I and ASL this semester (on top of three other classes) and plan on taking A&P II and ASL II next semester. The chemistry I took ( gen, organic, & biochem) was difficult enough, I can't imagine squeezing that AND anatomy in one semester!
i agree, im going to just take 1 science class/semester dont wanna have a "W" and re take classes!!
