new grad rn- can't find a job
I am in the same position. I feel like the mistake I made was not working at the hospital as a CNA while I was in nursing school because it seems to be SO difficult to work at one unless you know someone. I am frustrated and angry. How do you expect me to have experience at a hospital when I cannot get any?! I have a RN job lined up (yes, I'm thankful to even have one) at my current place of employment, but it is at a post-acute rehab center where I will see very little action. I will not get to handle any IVs, chest tubes, burn injuries, etc. I have been working at this place for the past 2 years as a CNA and I am more than ready for something different. I'm tired of applying at several places and getting rejected right away. I am losing hope. I dont understand what I am doing wrong. I am frustrated.

Can't get a job in the hospital, even with experience
I am in the same boat. I have been applying for positions at hospitals and I never even get a phone interview. Automatic email rejections. It seems like lately it is who you know that will get you a job. Nursing shortage my ass! Maybe we will see one by 2020, but as of now, it is very competitive.

4 yr old child and 2 science class's plus ASL and a coop
Is science a strong suit of yours? I struggled with my science courses and I personally never took more than one science course during the semester. If you believe you would be able to keep up with all of your classes, I say go for it. If there may be any doubt in your mind about being able to take on all the courses, then I would say take it easy and take on what you only can take on at this time. If you decide to take one science class, I would probably take chemistry along with your ASL course. I struggled with anatomy, but if you enjoy learning about the body systems and the pathophysiology behind it, perhaps you'll be more successful than I was. Ultimately, the decision is yours. Are you driven enough to get it done and be successful? Do you think you can take all 3 classes while taking care of your daughter? I have seen classmates who were pregnant, had their baby while enrolled, and still graduated on time. I am a strong believer that if you believe in yourself, you can do anything. Best of luck.

Get into RN program in Miami with 2.66 GPA
Are you set on that nursing program only? If so, you may have to retake those courses in order to boost up your gpa. Are you open to other nursing programs? Other programs may not be as strict and more willing to work with you. I speak from personal experience, but I applied to 3-4 nursing programs in the area. My gpa was lower than a 3.0, so I was not sure if I could get into any program. Most of the nursing programs denied me except for one program. They considered my application after I took the TEAS test and was willing to take an extra class that focused mainly on helping me build good study habits/reviewed nursing criteria we just learned in class. My point is... do not give up. If one opportunity closes, find another.

Marriage and Nursing School
It is all about communication. I hope things get better for the both of you. I know too well how nursing school sucks away your life and you may not have as much time to spend with your loved ones. Remind your wife that you love her. Showing support and appreciation goes both ways. Perhaps she is just feeling lonely? Best of luck.

PEARSON VUE TRICK
congrats! :) I am still waiting!!! and the wait is horrible! I took my nclex-rn boards on wed, nov. 20th at 1100. Since then I have been obsessively checking my state boards and NOTHING! :/ I tested in Nebraska. I did the pearson vue trick and I did receive the good pop up, so I am hoping this trick works in a positive way! impatiently waiting to find out whether or not I failed... 20 more hours or so for unofficial results and/or hopefully see my name on state boards. /cries.
