For nursing students like myself, I thought it would be helpful and intersting to see what type of salary is out there for graduating nursing students for different area's. Looking around the site, I see different salary threads, but many replies are from nurses with 10 or more years experience, or the threads are years old and the starting salary is long outdated. I thought it would be more helpful to have a thread with nurses who are fresh out of school and what their starting salary is.

Wow, very interesting thread! I am starting my ADN in August and hopefully getting my BSN and trauma cert after that. A friend of mine who is an RN said PRN RNs in the Richmond area can make over fifty an hour. Thinking I will go that route while I am getting my BSN.
I'm not sure if I should try to negotiate or not -- have a second degree (business admin), 2 years tech experience, 3 years leadership/teaching experience. I feel a little bit low-balled, but don't know how to negotiate, particularly over the phone...
