Your first semester/quarter grades

Published

If I may ask, what were your grades like in your very first term/semester of nursing school?

I am disappointed in my grades. I am used to having higher grades (A's) and I am a little down, even though I didn't do terrible (A in a one credit hour course, a B in Patho, and a B plus in Foundations). I am taking Human nutrition next quarter along with a continuation in courses in patho, foundations and the one credit course. On the plus side, I will also have a one credit hour horse back riding class that I am looking forward to.

I got an 88 on nearly every exam. It was like it was MY number or something.

An A! I just got my first B ever now in medsurg :(

Yeah, right. Everyone gets A's.

My grades?--None of your business.

:yeah: LOLOLOLOL

our Fundamentals is split first semester so I got a B in Fundamentals 1 and unless I bomb the final will be getting the same in Fundamentals 2...also getting probably a B- in Anatomy...

our program is 75 to pass...

Here, you either need a 78% to pass or incredibly butt kissing skills. In that case, you can pass with less than a 78.

For my first three rotations, the only thing I received an A in was clinical. Everything else ranged from a B- to an A-.

All my science classes (A&P, Micro, Math, Patho, Pharm, Holistics/Nutrition) I received A's. But we had to take those prior to getting accepted into the program. I think if we had to take those classes with our nursing classes, I probably wouldn't have done as well as I did.

Our school requires a B- (84%) to move on to the next rotation. I find this requirement a bit overkill; it can be stressful. But in some ways, I am grateful for the high expectations--it gets my butt in gear.

I had such a hard time accepting anything less than an A. It was a serious blow to my confidence. It's really tough when there are other students, and even people who have never stepped foot in nursing school, have the attitude that anything less than A's is unacceptable and wouldn't want a nurse caring for them who was a B average student.

No need to be rude or immature. And if you had actually read the thread, you would realize that not everyone has gotten straight As.

Final exam in Foundation is 95% YEHHHOOOOOO!!!!

A in Foundation.

One more final exam coming for Medication Admin 2 but I have 97% in all prior exams so I 'm pretty confident.

STraight A's in first semester of NS. Smart me

I know I wrote I had A's, B and B- lol and I'm sure people that got D's obviously are not in nursing school anymore. Also at my school an A is hard to get, a B has an abnormally large range, and a smaller range for C and the way our grades are calculated B's are probably more common then C's. It would actually be hard to get a C with the way our grades are calculated which I won't bore you with explaining.

Lucky - We can't get below a 84% (B-).

Nursing Fundamentals Theory - A (97%)

Nursing Fundamentals Lab - A

Nursing Fundamentals Practicum (clinical) - A

Health Assessment - B+ (Had an A until the dreaded head to toe)

All throughout prereqs I had solid As - 97% and above. That B+ is KILLING me!

so excited. I made it through my first semester with a 86 in the class which is a B for us. We started with 60 and probably lost about 15-20 people.
