Your Fave Work Shoes

After a hell day and night at work my feet are killing me, and I'm pretty sure that my beloved comfy work shoes are on their death bed, gasping. I've already tried the store where I got these ones and they're not trendy anymore so not in production. Can I please have some recommendations for comfortable work shoes (not clogs or mules, not allowed) for tired feet? I'm asking in this forum since UK shoe shops are pretty well franchised! Ta all :)

for some god forsaken reason student nurses (and nurses) have to wear black shoes, probably the same reasons that are constantly beaing discussed in the NT.

I have plain black trainers with no markings, so I get away with them, so much more comfortable than 'shoe' shoes....

Hi, where did you get your black trainers? We have been told that Crocs are banned, am still wearing them but waiting for someones beady eye to spot me so my Croc days are numbered. Have been told that we can wear any pair of black leather type shoes, or black trainers. The trainers sound good but haven't got shed loads of money for a fancy pair.

i have about 10 pairs of different coloured crocs, but then i am not in the uk anymore where they are so hung up about making you dance to their tune,,,,,,

Good old Marks and Spencers footglove wide foot ripper shoe with velcro fastening - I kid you not. Am on my 3rd pair now, and it is like wearing a pair of slippers.

A very wise person once said to me "you spend half your life on your feet, and half on your back, so buy the best shoes/bed you can afford".

currently trialling a pair of slipper footgloves with a velco strap may suit a dress more than my current tunic/trouser uniform

very comfy sole is thin though may not wear well

You bet! Will have to tuck my standard issue blue elasticated band trousers into my socks because of the draught though :smokin:

Another vote for DM's, they are the mary jane style. Everyone always they must be heavy but they are the most comfortable shoes I've had & best lasting. Clarks & hush puppies I go though in about 6 months so far these are 9 months old.

I have some nice black slip ons (backless) that I bought from Tesco a couple of weeks ago because my Hush Puppies mary-janes have gone missing. I've been on my final placement on a general paeds ward where I had to wear black shoes.

But I've got some blue Endevour/Aspen Crocs (no holes) to wear when I'm back on the neonatal unit next month; this time as a staff nurse. They wear scrubs and aren't at all bothered about shoe colours/styles.

I just treated myself to some MBT's, amazingly comfortable although a bit strange at first, they also improve your posture. Not cheap though! but as someone said earlier you spend half your time on your feet so invest!!(loved the full saying by the way!!:yeah:)

I have a pair of K-swiss walkers that I put gel soles in. Even bought the $100 pair of Dansko clogs....still makes my foot hurt underneath the arch after a 16 hour shift!!!! WASTE OF MONEY!

i wear new balance i like the pink ones for breast cancer. i also have red cross shoes i love...
