  1. Any quick advice on a VAC pump...never used one before & I'm a little scared!! Just started on a new med-surg floor myself. Thanks anyone!!!
  2. Kind of new to this site...how do I find this "sticky" to read the info. :yldhdbng:
  3. I would do the LPN route as well. Just in case u have to change jobs/locations/etc., you'll have this. Once u get this, start right away on your RN degree. Just a thought.
  4. Are you in the EC program or are you in a traditional program? I'm currently enrolled in a Comm. College taking pre-reqs and statistics is req'd and I am really terrified to take it.
  5. I was just wondering if u could tell me what exactly the CPNE's including when u had to do yours. I understand it's like 3 days of this, is this correct? Thanks for info is appreciated.
  6. Thanks, I'll do that. I live in Louisiana....but, I'm scared that I'll start this program and before I can finish w/ it, our state will not accept it anymore. I'm currently taking pre-reqs @ a Comm. College right now, so I'm tossing the idea around.
  7. Maybe a ditto response...Thanks for info..What exactly if you recall did u have to do for your CPNE's?
  8. Thanks for the info....What exactly if you recall did the CPNE's include doing?
  9. I'm an LPN in LA considering starting w/ Excelsior for my RN degree. Can anyone out there tell me about the clinicals to pass? I know u usually have to go to another state to do them, but are they extremely difficult??:typing
  10. Thanks so much for ya'll's replies on assessing edema. It will help a bunch.:typing
  11. Could someone in an easy way tell me exactly what 1+,2+,3+, etc. edema means?
  12. I'm sorry I can't help u w/ ur ? re: GA's laws, but I had a question about EC if u don't mind. What did u have to do with the clinical part to pass. I'm currently an LPN going to a traditional college for my RN degree. Just curious about EC.
  13. The med was to help her sleep, but the POA stated when she took it in the hospital prior to her coming into the LTCF, it caused extreme agitation and sleeplessness. She stated the nurses did hold it and the pt. rested better. So her reasoning was that this med caused the opposite effects.
  14. No, this patient is 91 years old and she has Alzheimer's.:typing
