Just curious. How old was the youngest mi that you have seen. It seems like they are coming younger and younger.

18 year old snorting coke. Sad. Lots of guys in their 20s -- no one ever told them that cocaine was bad for them.

18 (Just turned 18)--not drug related!
He had a mild anaphlactic reaction to something that he ate that caused a vasospasm long enough to do some damage...He was okay though (other than that little MI part...)

A 27yo was brought into our ER for a mixed drug overdose and he didn't make it. We had a 31 year old on our unit last year who had also had an MI but with a good outcome.

Back in the 70's my cousin died at age 18 from an MI, his father died at age 38. I have a huge family history of CVD. 5 of 7 of my mom's brothers all wtih cardiac, 2 of the died in theair late 30's early 40's. Her only sister had at least 3 before she died. I really need to watch out. it seems though that the women in the family don't get it until after menopause though.

We had a 35-year old male with 95% blockage of the left main, no MI. He had just a few twinges of pain, no other symptoms. Very fortunately for him, this was caught before MI. He had to have open heart surgery to repair. I agree--Seems like they are coming in younger and younger.
