When you use the word "insinuated" do you mean "instituted" as in "This is the first year the school has instituted the exit exam"?

My A&P course at a CC was 254 for 3 credits of theory and 105 for 1 credit lab. Wow----- 963.00 it better come with a golden A --lol.

In Spring 2008, I paid $2010 tuition and fees plus about $360 for books to a Penn State branch campus for just one 4-credit Microbiology with lab. But, they gave us free parking.

That was in-state tuition rate, btw.

WOW!

Our tuition rate is $66 per credit hour. So a 4 credit class would be... $264.

The local community college district where I live in Texas charges $50 per credit, so one 4-credit course would cost $200.

Once again you didnt state where you came from (State) in the New York,New Jersey area, your Pre-requisite class (you know ,Psy,Bio's,Math,English,Micro. etc.) run anywhere from 1,000- 1,700 depending if you have a lab. Our actual nursing class with clinical and other fee's is around 5,700. You must either work for a hospital who is paying your tuition,your parents are,you have money or get student finacial aide..

My hospital pays $1,500 / YEAR. I was talking about every single class. All of my pre-reqs (Chem, Bio, Micro, AP 1, AP 2, AND ALL OF MY AA work so Speech, Geography, etc. except math because who can't test out of that) All of it, zero debt.

I pay for my entire education by myself with no financial aide because yes as you so eloquently put it I have money that I made for myself to get through college.

The $1,500 a year that my hospital pays is trivial that doesn't cover a semester.

Did I infer jealousy in your post? It's hard to infer emotion through internet forums. Granted I do not have children to pay for, but I do have bills and a mortgage, I can still manage to be debt-free by myself when I graduate. My intentions are not to gloat, I just can't see spending ~100k on school for your RN.

Oh, and Minnesota.

The school I got accepted into is a private school, and it's about $5000/semester. I thought that was pricey. I'm in Nebraska.

I thought you said that the VA and your employer pays for your college. Which is it? Donyou have money and pay for your own college or do you use the financial aid/educational benefits (which of course you've earned if a veteran) of the VA to pay for your college?

No, you didnt infer jealousy in my post. I do have a home, 3 kids and I live in Staten Island N.Y. commute to N.J to go to my nursing program and my point is our cost of living and schools have higher price tags, and that most of the people who posted here didn't say where they were from which makes a difference. I was SORT of offended by what you said in your OP that "They aren't good enough to get into a cheaper program" Which is not the case for most of these people here i'm sure.

In NY we have waiting lists and these are the people who scored good enough to get into the program. This is why I choose to leave NY and go to NJ. ( not that that matters) because I didnt want to wait. I know your not gloating that you will be debt free when you graduate and thats awesome but alot of people go on to do their B.S, M.S.N, etc.and it is costly. Most people aren't employed by a hospitals who will pick up some of that expense either.

I can't believe some of the outrageous tuitions I see people paying on this site! My school costs about 1700 a semester not including any extras or books. I cant imagine paying 40,000 or more. Are people paying this much bc they can't get into cheaper colleges?? Whats going on..?

Sometimes it's the prestige. Some people go to private universities and pay $40,000/YEAR! I say that's crazy. I happen to like public education at half the price or less!
