In the last month, I was called by a HHN who told me she had to DC a patient because...

She found the patient dragging her dead goat across a field with plans of performing CPR on it.

So to start this thread(in homage to Jeff Foxworthy)

You may not be home bound if ....

You can drag your dead goat across a field so you can do CPR:redbeathe on it:lol2:

I would love to get keep this thread going...Happy Thanksgiving

If you go to Denny's every morning for breakfast and tell the nurse "thanks for making me late to an appointment to look at a house with my son"

You might not be homebound if your nurse has to schedule your visits each time before 11:00 a.m. so that you can drive yourself to the casino for lunch and a little slot machine action :(

Specializes in Hospice / Ambulatory Clinic.
you call to arrange visit time and your wife says your are out with your buddies, dont know what you are doing or what time you'll be back.

your neighbor says that you are out car shopping - hoping to bring home a snappy little mazda miata.

OMG getting into my friends Miata is a nightmare you sort of have to half crouch then swing your ass in without falling out of the crouch first. Getting out is like a crab walk

You tell me what a good time you had on vacation last week

You may not be homebound if........ you fail the "pine-cone test"..

True story, I worked with a home health nurse once, and she said she knew her patient was not homebound but when she discussed it with him he said his car NEVER leaves the driveway. He lived alone. So she said as she was leaving she saw a pine-cone in the yard and she put it behind his back tire. When she went back the next day the pine-cone was smashed because he ran over it backing his car out of the driveway.... Case conference was interesting that day.... :)

Love it! I may have to use that some time!

You may not be homebound...if when I finally reached you by phone, you had just come in from a 170 mile road trip, that you took on your motorcycle that day. :nono:
