You or your family member is sick and you bring out the stethoscope to see if you can hear abnormal lung or bowel sounds!

My nine year old asked me "what is a kidney" ... I whipped out my A&P book to show him pics, then explained ureters, urethra and bladder .... he was completely finished with the conversation and I prolonged it with my explanations!! LOL

LOL to both of you!! :jester:

That is so true! It totally cracks me up. I have not even started school yet - just accepted to the Jan 2010 program - and people are asking me what I think of this, that, and everything else medical!

When your child has a Bowel Movement, you ask them to let you see it for any changes in color and size.

- When you find alcohol prep pads laying around in the most unusual places.

- When you are oblivious to all major world events/entertainment news (at least during the semester).

- When you look back at A&P fondly as "not so bad after all."

- When you're scared of everything. And I do mean everything.

- When you've never worked so hard and still feel so dumb. :lol2:

  • When you become a regular at the library
  • When you finish a pot of coffee (at night) while studying for a test
  • When you no longer care about how you look, just as long as you have all your books, supplies, name tag, ect...
  • When you have a complete season of your favorite shows recorded on your tv that you have not gotten to watch yet
  • When your family and friends call to ask if a certain med is OK or what a certain symptom could be
  • When you start to assess people in the wal-mart check out line (in your head of course)
  • When you laugh at people who call studying for 2 hours "intense and long"
  • When you have to add your study group into your "circle of friends" on your phone plan because of the numerous text and phone calls

Soooo true...my sister is majoring in Human Resources and gripes about having to do "huge" papers. When I ask her what constitutes a huge paper, she says "3-5 pages." BWAHAHA!!!! I tell her to suck it up, because I have to do at least 10 pages of clinical paperwork EVERY week!!:icon_roll

So true! How could I have forgot about that!

When I was in the Army as a medic and living in Germany my cousin or sister would call me all the time with questions about this and that...

And now whenever my cousin takes her daughters to the Dr she calls me, tells me what they say, and asks me if it sounds right!! :jester:

You no longer need to use the weight bench, because carrying all your books, putting them and picking them up again ends up being more weight than you ever pressed in the gym.

LOL. Soooo true! Family always calls to check up on symptoms and medication advice...which is a good thing...actually saved a life in the process...even though I live 300 miles away...Just assessing this family member's condition over the phone...it did not sound good at all...and stubborn as he was...did not want to get help for himself...but thank God that my mom called me when she did...or else he would not be alive today! :D
