I'm sure this has been done before but I figured I'd do it anyway!
You know you're in nursing school when......
Your mind is thinking about so many different things that you actually have to stop and make sure you have on all of your clothes before you leave the house!
Got another one ! This just happened tonight.
You know you're in nursing school when you're at the movies and your friend offers you pop corn drowned in butter and salt and you reply " Not thanks, thats basically hypertenstion in a bag" Then your friend looks at you and says uh ? Whats hypertension again ?
I still have to constantly remind myself that not everyone in the world knows medical terms.
When you ask for gift cards to Barnes and Noble so you can buy NCLEX study guides, and find yourself drawn to the Nursing books section everytime you go in.
Daddy got me a BN gift card for my b-day I was thrilled ! I turned down an ipod, digital camera, a fancy dinner. Baby all I wanted for christmas was my gift card to buy nclex books !
when you feel the top of your 4yr olds foot and your first thought is, OMG why is it so edematous? Then you realized it's just a chubby little foot
you carry an IV start kit around in your bag because you never know who'll let you practice on them.
You're convinced every little sniffle from you child is something much worse. I was convinced ds had meningitis last weekend with his fever, vomiting, and pain behind the eyes. I actually had him put his chin to chest just for my own peace of mind :imbar
And I also spent all of my spring break catching up on work for the next few weeks
You know you are in nursing school when....
...you forget how to spell simple words like "lately", "helium", "radio" and you remember how to spell "gastroduodenoscopy" without a thought...
...you set your alarm for clinical the next morning and then recheck it 2 minutes later and then right before nodding off you check it again to make sure it is set and working...
...you start talking about lochia, hemorrhage, colostomies, and vomitus and you are in a totally crowded restaurant with lots of non-nursing students and everyone looks at you like you are nuts...
