I also failed NCLEX, stopping at question 258. What a big disappointment, (took it last Tuesday). I totally understand Emilysmom and whinnymay! I'm sorry!
Its okay, we have nurses looking out for us here in this board.
I am sooo thankful for this uplifting BB, for the people who are so encouraging and have faith for the GNs.
Well I guess I need to take it again...
Whinnymay, just curious..I thought we had to wait 90 days to retake it? Thats very encouraging to be able to take it earlier. Does it vary from state to state with the waiting period?
Again, I know what you're going through and I want to share with you what my husband wrote in a card,
"Each setback is only a momentary pause in a marvelous screenplay written by God." That really comforted me about the future. We made it this far... its just another obstacle in life to overcome.
all the best,
joy

Hi JoyNICU,
I am sending you my prayers right now:sniff:
It is such a disappointment when we fail. I have to say though that you were SO close to passing. Don't give up, you don't sound like you are gonna let this thing beat you!
FYI they changed the waiting period to retest to 45 days. Thats wonderful news. It gives you enough time to review what you missed and prepare anew. Give it your all again and really dedicate yourself to passing this time. I can guarantee you will learn so much about yourself and the subjects you missed when you concentrate on them in between testing.
Your hubby is a wise man. Here's a little addition to his great words...
"Success is failure turned inside out-
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit-
Its when things seem worst that you must not quit."

yes now it is only a 45 day wait. I don't think that I could wait for 90 days. I already have everything paid for and my application sent back to the state. Does anyone knows how this works? I mean in terms, of when you submitt your application to re-test to the state, do they notify the testing center, when you are eligible to test again, then does the ATT come on that date? Thank you guys for all of the support that you have given me this past week. It really means alot.

Hi
I just failed the NCLEX as well, and I am just devestated. All of my friends have taken it and passed and I am just so bummed. My mom died a month before I took the boards and I think I just could not concentrate.
Anyways, do you know if all the states are switching to a retest in 45 days or just certain states. I would much rather test in 45 days rather than 90.
When I received my letter asking for more money for the retest it said I had to wait 90 days, I hope they just have not changed the letter.

Yvonne,
I am sorry to hear about your mom. What a difficult time. I'm also sorry about the NCLEX result! I feel like NCLEX is running our lives!
From what I have heard, the 45 day wait is nationwide. You might want to check on your state boards website or even call them, but I have heard from many its for all states...thank goodness! Let us know when you're taking it. I'm planning on first week of April. What a relief not to have to wait three months! Hang in there!

YOu can and will pass the NCLEX. You have put so much of your time and your life into nursing school. This, too shall pass.
Those are beautiful words that your husband wrote. How thoughtful of him.

your in my thoughts....prior to graduating with my bsn,I had to pass the hesi. I couldn't graduate or sit for the nursing boards.I took a n-clex review course, but still did not pass the hesi...third strike. My future nursing career rested upon my dean's decision to allow me to sit for the boards. I took the n-clex and pass the first time! However, waited 1 1/2yrs to pratice as a nurse. I had to share b/c of "each setback is only a momentary pause..."
