  1. Hi hanniebabes, I totally UNDERSTAND the emotions you're going through!! Whatever happens, don't lose hope, (easier said than done). I will be here for you whenever you need to just vent about it and/or when you overcome the NCLEX!..let me know when you find out. This bulletin board has many caring nurses that will help you get through it, hang in there! joy
  2. This morning I found out I PASSED! The last time I wrote on this board was March after I failed the first time in February. There were several people that gave me such encouraging words and I thank you, I hope you know who you are! I have been only reading and observing the threads since then. In April,I took NCLEX for the second time and again failed and life was definitely miserable...then today I rejoice and I thank God for so much. For those still to take the test and/or waiting for results, I wish you all the best and don't give up...perseverance is the key. The first two times I took NCLEX was all 265 and I finally passed with 173! So this is how it feels!!!:rotfl:
  3. Yvonne, I am sorry to hear about your mom. What a difficult time. I'm also sorry about the NCLEX result! I feel like NCLEX is running our lives! From what I have heard, the 45 day wait is nationwide. You might want to check on your state boards website or even call them, but I have heard from many its for all states...thank goodness! Let us know when you're taking it. I'm planning on first week of April. What a relief not to have to wait three months! Hang in there!
  4. I also failed NCLEX, stopping at question 258. What a big disappointment, (took it last Tuesday). I totally understand Emilysmom and whinnymay! I'm sorry! Its okay, we have nurses looking out for us here in this board. I am sooo thankful for this uplifting BB, for the people who are so encouraging and have faith for the GNs. Well I guess I need to take it again... Whinnymay, just curious..I thought we had to wait 90 days to retake it? Thats very encouraging to be able to take it earlier. Does it vary from state to state with the waiting period? Again, I know what you're going through and I want to share with you what my husband wrote in a card, "Each setback is only a momentary pause in a marvelous screenplay written by God." That really comforted me about the future. We made it this far... its just another obstacle in life to overcome. all the best, joy
  5. I just took the NCLEX yesterday, (Feb.3) and I went all the way to 258 and THEN it shut off...finally! Just wondering if there's anybody that went that long and passed. I just never heard of anyone going til 258 and shut off! Usually its 75, 116, 153, 210 or all the way to 265!!! Just need some encouragement..I'll be finding out tomorrow..same day I start my new job!!! STRESS!! Thanks, joy:eek:
  6. In the hospital where I work they are gradually doing away with print scrubs and such because of customer/patient response on not knowing who the RNs are because everybody looks the same. So the emergency department RNs wear solid blue scrubs and OR nurses wear green and so on. Frankly, I think they look great and patients seem to appreciate that better. They don't get confused between CNAs, housekeeping with RNs! It also seems to uphold higher standards for the nurse because it LOOKS more professional, neat...just like everybody is saying what a nurse should look in appearance. I agree about the white dresses getting splashed and how difficult it would be to keep it "clean" but I also believe in keeping up the standards of the nurse, (of course first and foremost, taking care of patients being a priority) but also being presentable such as looking crisp, tidy, professional, etc. After all, some nurses feel they don't get much respect from some patients, but it seems when they are and look presentable, they are treated well...(patient poll of the hospital). The nurses then perform better and are more confident with their career as professional=better working environment, best care for patients! What you wear does wonders to your attitude in anything you do so it is important:kiss
  7. Thanks Gompers for your advice! I see you're from Chicago...we love it there!
  8. How long did everyone wait to take the NCLEX? I am taking it beginning of February and I don't want to wait longer, although I feel very unprepared... I also am starting in the NICU;) being my first GN job and I am VERY excited! I start the same week I take the NCLEX. Is that a good idea? I know I can always change the date... ADVICE PLEASE!! joy
