I'm posting this on its own thread because I really want everyone keep your hope and dreams alive! I really hope that none of you give up. Even if you get denied several times or have to wait several years, keep trying and your time will come.
(As most of you know, I was denied for Spring '06, but retook my Algebra class and reapplied.)

The letters came today!!!!!!
Come June 1st, it will have been fifteen years since I graduated from high school. I went straight into college in pursuit of my nursing degree, but never got to the point of applying.
15 years after I graduated from high school, I finally have an acceptance letter into the nursing program!
I will start at North Lake College in the Fall '06 program! :balloons: :balloons:
Please, no one give up!!!!!!
Thanks to all of you for your support!!!!!!!!![/bANANA]
:balloons: congratulations!:balloons:

:biggringi :flowersfo :smiley_aa :yelclap: :w00t:
i couldn't agree with you more, god knows where you need to be and when. my youngest daughter, kaylee, was born with congenital heart disease and went through 2 open heart surgeries. although it was very hard and tramatic for my family and me, it changed my life for the better in many ways. it is why i chose nursing school instead of some other career.
Thank you, NICU_nurse2b. I couldn't imagine having to go through that with my children. Wow.....that is a strength like no other. My oldest was put in the hospital at 9 days old for a week, but nothing major. :kiss
I've had 18 surgeries throughout the years, so I do really have a personal need to give the back the good care I received every time. (...Except for that pre-op shot I felt a year later!) OUCH! :lol2:
Fun2Care,
I'm so happy for you. It's great to see what you kept your faith and didn't give up. That's an inspiring example to the rest of us who are still plugging away waiting entrance into nursing school.
Best of luck. I know with your persistence and determination, you will be an excellent student and an even better nurse.

fun2care,
When I first joined allnurses.com, I would read through this forum and get discouraged by all the 4.0's and the high percentile that people have ranked in on the pre-nursing exam. But after reading your replies to people like me, I've learned to think positive because just as you said, God knows when it's our turn and yours is here! :biggringi CONGRATULATIONS :balloons: AND GOOD LUCK YOU REALLY INSPIRED ME AND I WILL NEVER GIVE UP!
thank you.

Jaxia, growing up, I wanted to be a Plastic/Reconstructive surgeon. I don't think my hand is steady enough for that. :chuckle
