  1. I am in my second semester of General Arts & Science (Health Stream) at Durham College, and I have just received acceptances to Seneca and Georgian for Fall 2009 BScN. I am still waiting to hear from a few more schools. Good luck everyone!
  2. Hi! I've applied to Humber, Seneca, Georgian, Centennial and Mohawk for Nursing this September. I've been out of high school for 10 years, so I am currently taking a Pre-Health course at Durham College. Does anyone know if this will be enough to get me in? My high school marks are not that stellar. But my average last semester at Durham was 87%. Will the colleges not look at my high school marks because of my college marks? Thanks! Jess
  3. Congratulations! I'm in the process of applying for Sept. 2008 (the schools I'm interested in are still accepting applications). I hope (and pray) that I will have the same great news as you this year!
  4. Fun2Care, Congratulations!:balloons: I have been out of highschool for 7 years and your post has given me inspiration. Good luck in Fall 06!
  5. Thank you for all of your responses! I know it is going to be tough, but hopefully it will be worth it. Bicycleboy, I am so surprised that you didn't hear back from these schools. I will definetly keep that in mind when I am applying to the program.
  6. Wow! What inspirational stories. I have just started my pre-reqs for nursing and I have always thought that I would want to work in Labour and Delivery, but after reading this thread I think I might be changing my mind. You all sound so compassionate about your job and that is so refreshing to hear. Thanks you for sharing your stories. And keep up the good work!
  7. Hi all! This is my first post on this site (although I have been lurking for a while). Anyways, I just wanted to know how tough is it to get into Nursing? I have always wanted to be an RN and now is a great time for me to achieve this goal. I am in 25 and have been out of school for 7 years. As of this coming Monday I am starting university preparation courses. My transcript isn't the best, so I am hoping these courses will give me an edge in the application process. I hope to be starting my degree in September 2007. Is this feasible? Are there long wait-lists in Ontario? My husband and are are not opposed to moving to another part of the province or to another province all together. His job is very transferable so he won't have trouble finding a job wherever we end up. So I guess what I am really trying to find out is it a waste of my time to apply in Ontario? Is there any other province that has less wait-times for acceptance? I sometimes feel like I have left this too long and that all of the recent grads from highschool will be given consideration before me. My first choice for colleges would be Durham, George Brown, and Algonquin. Does anyone know about the nursing programs at these colleges? Sorry for all of the questions! I guess I am pretty excited about this.
