It sounds silly, but I'm so excited that I passed my first skill test for hand-washing! :) Now I don't feel quite as intimidated by all the other skills. I know that as long as I practice I can learn any skill. That was my biggest fear about nursing school. I can do the book work and the critical thinking, but skills scared the crap out of me. Will be living in the nursing lab for the next two years, tho. Next up, gowning and gloving!

I did mine not that long ago too. Passing was a huge relief! I get super super nervous for every skill, for vital signs I almost forgot to take the BP! Every check off, you're closer to that RN! Congrats!

Congratulations on your first check off! Isn't it funny what we are proud of any more?
I am past hand washing, sterile gloving, and vitals. Good times!

Lol. We all giggled and some complained and scoffed at hand-washing, but yes, it is nice to get that first skills check off. It makes it feel the tiniest bit real that you're really doing it. Just wait until you're passing even 'better' check-offs! :)
Keep at it, enjoy yourself!
And wash your hands!
