  1. SSRM, I did try and got the good pop up. I had to drive 3 hours from my house to take it, so I didn't give myself a chance to check until I got to a friend's house lol. Registered Nurse y'all!
  2. I cried in the elevator down to the lobby. I didn't know how to feel. 75 questions and it cut off. Passed!
  3. Im happy to be in such great company! I'm half a nurse too! We are halfway through our 3rd semester. Two more to go! It gets harder and harder but I'm not going anywhere
  4. Things are going really well so far. Hopefully it will continue the upward trend! :). All of our instructors are really nice and helpful and all of the fellow students have grown close.
  5. Congrats! I feel like that every check off! We do vital signs Monday. :)
  6. As for the young folk, who cares what they think? :) If having it will save your back (I'm 36 so I get it) then do it. The one I have rolls but also has back straps so I can carry it when I need to. Save yourself! LOL I am not the only one who has one but even if I was, I would still have one. Go for it.
  7. I originally had a 1-2inch binder for all classes but that's out now. Now I bring a 1inch binder for each class. We meet in a lecture hall so we have these tiny half desks and no room for the big book and binder. I keep only filler paper in the binder and have a separate 3 ring folder for the schedule and handouts. There's no way i can print our PP as some/most are over 100 pages long. I see what the instructor goes over in class and print what is necessary. I have larger binders for backup but unless we move to a classroom, they'll be collecting dust.
  8. Our Fundamentals book is huge with tiny print but, I'm going to read it all for right now. One of our instructors tests straight from the book so until I take her test and see for myself I'm reading every word lol. I try to read one chapter and take a 5 minute break then read another. I usually can't absorb info after reading for more than 2-3 hours at a time.
  9. I'm just so, so glad everything worked out for you ! Good luck! I'll start Wednesday :)
  10. I was able to work full time during all my Pre-reqs. I took 2-3 courses each semester and took most of them at night. One semester for an example: A&P I (T&Th nights), Human Growth & Development (Mon nights), Speech (online). Try not to take 2 difficult classes in the same semester. If that's not possible, see if your school offers tutors for what you would be the most challenged in. Good luck! :)
  11. I guess it depends on how tough the instructors are. I took A&P II and Micro the same semester. A day and night class respectively. The Micro instructor barely taught us anything but most of what we should've been learning we'd gone over in A&P I. It's doable :)
  12. I've cut my hair (easier for a ponytail). I quit my job but only because it would've required me to work while I was in class (I'm looking for a weekend job currently). I'm resuming my grocery budget because I'll be taking my lunch everyday. I've also already been preparing family and friends for my disappearing act. :). Oh and I also went through all my bills and cut everything back that I could.
  13. That is fantastic!!!! It worked out just in time!!! Woohoo!!!
  14. That's close to what I have. I picked mine up at Walmart for around $2. It has the same weekly and monthly breakdown as the one you're getting. Lots of room for writing. :)
  15. That is wonderful news!!! Sounds really, really good!!!!
