Hello everyone! This thread is for folks applying to Yale's GEPN program for the fall 2023 start.
Feel free to introduce yourself, ask questions and offer guidance and support to other candidates. Please be respectful and kind and remember that this is a long, exhausting, expensive, stressful journey for lots of people. Let's do our best to uplift and help each other. Good luck!
A lot of students work during year 2&3. Some in the hospitals as per diem staff, some as advice/triage nurses, school nurses, camp nurses etc. Some specialties are more rigorous than others in the specialty years so the amount may vary. But it's definitely doable.
There are also more scholarship opportunities for people holding an RN going into NP than there are for non RNs going into NP. So year 2 and 3 may have more scholarship options as well as employment.
I agree the cost is a lot to factor into the decision.
Hi guys! I got acceptance into YALE MSN PMHNP program. I am so excited. I am a 24 year old female and going to be looking for a roomate that is "off campus" but nearby. Is there any facebook group chats or groups I can join to meet people who are starting their masters in august and may need roomates!

Has anyone thought about the pros/cons of Yale dorms, Yale apartments, or off-campus (non-university) apartments? Never too early to plan.

Hey, thanks for sharing, especially if it wasn't an easy choice.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm really struggling with whether to accept my spot or not. The cost of the program just seems so huge, and I have no idea how I'm going to pay for it. Doesn't help that I have friends who did Accelerated BSN programs for like 20k, and then worked for institutions that payed for their MSNs. Had anyone heard about how feasible working during years 2 and 3 is?
