Yale GEPN vs mghihp direct entry
Hello!!? I am starting this thread to seek some advice from people who are interested in/know anything about these 3-year direct entry NP programs. Specifically, I am comparing the one at Yale and the one at Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of health professionals. Yale was my first choice, but then the cost is a huge factor to take account into? what I can think of right now ??? Yale: intimidatingly expensive! reputation (of course?) might have a connection to other Yale schools (maybe? not sure how that helps LOL) New Haven is not too bad for me when I have a car MGH: cheaper, especially with scholarships affiliated with the big hospitals in the city, so a good reputation for health professionals, good clinical placement Anyone can share their thought on which program is better? Much appreciated!

I am busy with my life at this time, but this anxiety about Yale pops up one or two times during the day...? Yale should be my top choice. I am still in the process of applying to Upenn, as they close their application process on Feb.1st, which is probably before Yale releases their decisions...

NP school - no RN experience
Hi! Still, I appreciate your comment because I have been thinking over this issue lately. I am a psychology major in my senior college year. So, I am pretty sure about my specialty (as my name indicates), and I have been in close contact with one of my psychology professors, who has been working in clinical settings (inpatient or outpatient)for roughly 30 years. She was in support of me pursuing a direct entry NP Program. If I manage to graduate from one of these programs, I will be in my 20s when I get my NP certification. If I can provide professional care just like anyone else, why would people be concerned with my age? Also, I personally think the national shortage of mental health workers cannot be filled if you only want NP in their average age(52, according to the report on psychiatric nurse association)

Hi! I have been confused over one question specifically - in my understanding, the duties of a nurse and an advanced practice nurse are quite different (please correct me if this is wrong!), and when they ask, "why nursing", is that a different question from "why advanced practice nursing/why your specialty"? That being said, I do like this field as a whole because I enjoy providing care and help to others, but in the end, it is the ability to prescribe and provide holistic care (assessment, treatment, etc...) that deeply interest me. Any thoughts or suggestions?
