Yale GEPN 2023

Hello everyone! This thread is for folks applying to Yale's GEPN program for the fall 2023 start.

Not psych, but chiming in -- I'm also RN-MSN (graduating in May) and waitlisted, so I'm wondering if they're prioritizing higher levels of experience for the RN-MSN track (which makes total sense and is what I expected).

Yeah I was RN-MSN track and was rejected. My understanding is they save MOST of the spots for GEPN and only like half a dozen for our track. If I had known those stats beforehand, I probably would not have applied.

Yes, given I just took my NCLEX and became a nurse, I knew this was going to be a barrier. Although they did not make it a requirement nor did they mention my lack of expereince in my interview, I really hope we still have a chance! @borreliaburgdorferi

I don't even graduate until May so yeah, knew it was a long shot. Thought my very extensive homebirth midwifery experience would've held enough weight but alas, nay. I was really upset to learn too during the interview that their midwifery clinicals were predominately at Yale's main campus versus Saint Raphael's, as the main campus would then have alllll the residents, etc. to "compete" with.

I also got in for GEPN psych track. Congratulations to everyone who got in and best of luck to those still waiting! Looks like the community scholars decisions will come out later!

Hey there everyone! It's been crazy on my end so I forgot to keep checking on this, but I was accepted this week for GEPN FNP! Can't wait to get to know you all! Congratulations to all those who were accepted, and best of luck to all the wonderful future APRNs out there who will find their place soon if Yale wasn't the match.

I think it's a little over 100? I know for Psych specialty they said they admit ~18-22 students

The RN MSN's will join the Yale GEPN 2022 group.  The RN MSNs will join that cohort for 1st specialty year after the GEPNs have completed and passed the NCLEX to become RNs.  Search on facebook for Yale GEPN 2022-2023.
