Hello everyone! This thread is for folks applying to Yale's GEPN program for the fall 2023 start.
Feel free to introduce yourself, ask questions and offer guidance and support to other candidates. Please be respectful and kind and remember that this is a long, exhausting, expensive, stressful journey for lots of people. Let's do our best to uplift and help each other. Good luck!

Best of luck to everyone!!
This was me last week! Adrenaline rush, thought I was going to puke, then realized it was from December.
Hello, just wanted to comment and say best of luck to everyone!
I applied and got into Yale's WH program last year. It was one of the best days of my life! Applying, interviewing and getting in a huge accomplish in itself.
I ended up declining, because they only initially offered no scholarships, and then I got some aid after negotiating. I also worked full time before applying, so I didn't have a "need." I know others who got more based on need, but I ended up declining to go to Simmons. Simmons was much more generous and lower cost overall ($120k or so). Plus, it's more doable to work during Simmons' entire program due to their scheduling.
Also know that a good chunk of students who are admitted will decline. I know several who did. So if you're on the wait list, don't lose hope.
If you're set on Yale, and applying elsewhere, definitely save your aid offer letters as leverage.
Best of luck!

Thank you for that background. Will the initial acceptance offer include any information about merit scholarships? I know in advance I won't qualify for any need-based offers, but I'd like to compare any merit-based offer with those I have from my other acceptances. For an 'apples-to-apples' type of comparison, if you will.

Wow. I had never thought this was possible. I only applied to Yale because of the community scholars scholarship and so if I do not get that, I will need to have enough other aid to make it financially make sense. I will qualify for needs-based.
I just looked through my emails, and it looks like my decision was released on 2/1, and financial aid info arrived shortly after. I asked for more aid on 2/16, and they replied on the decision date (which was 2/22).
For anyone looking to apply to DE programs this year, I recommend treating it more like medical school than nursing school. Research the programs, apply broadly, and know that ultimately, these programs should want you as much as you want to go! Accumulate as many admissions options as you can (and that you can afford to apply to). You'd be surprised how far down wait lists go, and how flexible a program can be for aid.

Thank you for that info. I agree with you. I already had to commit to a school due to their response deadline, even without having Yale's decision, knowing I might have to reevaluate options if accepted to YSN. I had three acceptances to choose from and picked the one with the largest merit scholarship. Along the lines of your thinking, I assumed they must have felt confident in me, and that me made feel confident in them.
