Yale GEPN 2023

Published

Hello everyone! This thread is for folks applying to Yale's GEPN program for the fall 2023 start.

Feel free to introduce yourself, ask questions and offer guidance and support to other candidates. Please be respectful and kind and remember that this is a long, exhausting, expensive, stressful journey for lots of people. Let's do our best to uplift and help each other. Good luck!

@mmCA had mine today too for midwifery. I ended pretty much right on time. I asked one basic question at the end and a more complex one which I thought was good. shall see! now the ultimate waiting game. is it beginning or end of February notifications go out? I went to an information session that said but totally forget and don't know where my notes are from it.

I believe they said the first week of February if I remember correctly. I am not sure about the specific date itself, but it should be during that first week!

how was your interview?  What questions did they ask for the RN-MSN route if you don't mind sharing?  I'm also an RN-MSN route for FNP, and would appreciate some advises ?

@PMHNPcandidate I interviewed for midwifery today and I had I think 6-8 questions. We finished right on time.

@FutureFNP2023 it was pretty good. she was very nice and we saw eye to eye on a lot of things. I feel like I was so nervous I barely even remember it all LOL I wore a silk shirt and sweat through the entire pit region hahah
A few of the questions were very much, why yale, why this specialty, and the like.

hahah thanks...I'm always nervous before the interview, but I'll try my best tomorrow!  Thanks for the input!

Ha! I put on a light grey silk shirt this morning, then immediately realized I was going to sweat through it, so changed to a dressy, dark blue sweater.

Last few years were Feb 1 (2021 and 2022) and January 26 (2020). I believe the final interviews are next Friday (unless they've had to push some to the following week), and they said they'd need at least two weeks to reach decisions. So, maybe tail end of January? But more likely first week of February.

I was thinking about getting a business formal, but after reading what you guys wrote, I think I will do a shirt and a sweater, too?

I don't think you can go wrong either way. I deliberately avoided a suit/collared shirt because I'm a lawyer and was hoping to kind of downplay that side of me. I felt like a sweater would help me feel more at ease and appear kind of warm and welcoming. I 100% overthought this. Most importantly, choose something you'll feel comfortable and confident wearing!

OMG. Wow. So much to take in. Thank you for posting this.
