Yale GEPN Applicants 2011

It didn't look like there was a thread for 2011 Yale GEPN applicants. Since the application recently opened, I thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is starting to work on their application.

Anyone else out there?

You know what I just realized? My birthday is on the 3rd; depending on when I get this letter, I'll probably either have a really awesome birthday or a slightly depressing one. :uhoh21:

Seriously...as much as I want to go to Yale...just knowing one way or the other will be a gift in itself!

I had dreams ALL night last night about the mail coming, seeing my letter from Yale.. opening it.... and instead of telling me whether or not I got in, they GRADED me on all the parts of my application! I got an "A" for being nice during my interview, a "B" on my outfit during my interview (which, by the way, I would like to dispute), and a "D" for the other parts of my application. Furthermore, they went to so far as to contact 10 random facebook friends (people whose names I recognized as childhood friends or acquaintances to whom I haven't spoken in YEARS) and asked them to give me points, from 0-120. And they ALL gave me 0, except for one, who gave me 9. That's like tipping a waitress one penny.

In other words, I think it's time we heard back......!!!! =) HAPPY MARCH

Ahhhh!!!! HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY! Good luck and I hope you find out BEFORE your birthday so you don't have to stress about it at all on your bday!! =)

No news or bad news? I live in New Haven and just retrieved today's mail; there was nothing from Yale. Perhaps it is still a bit premature, but disappointing none the less.

Such a bummer! I live up the highway from New Haven and convinced myself I would hear today! I still have my husband on mailbox patrol, but not very optimistic that the waiting game will be over today!

Wow! How's that possible? If they put them in the mail yesterday wouldn't they have HAD to have gotten to you today? That seems odd. Oh well, maybe the mail system isn't as efficient as we think it is.

Also, I'm at work and haven't done a single productive thing yet today. Except for write on this thread THREE TIMES.

Hi, long time lurker, first time posting. About to have a myocardial infarction (see? I can be in medicine!) waiting for this letter.

No news or bad news? I live in New Haven and just retrieved today's mail; there was nothing from Yale. Perhaps it is still a bit premature, but disappointing none the less.

Sometimes if you're on the early end of the route you tend to get your mail a day late because the new mail is still in its processing stages. My mail man usually doesn't arrive until 6-7 pm, and I live in Middlebury, CT, so I'll post back if I'm not dying from my inability to breath :)

My guess is they printed letters and put them in envelopes yesterday and threw them in the mail last thing. My husband just got the mail and nothing from Tale.
