It didn't look like there was a thread for 2011 Yale GEPN applicants. Since the application recently opened, I thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is starting to work on their application.
Anyone else out there?
Yes, she said the same to me via email. Bummer. Well, it was my first time applying to Yale, so I'm hoping that 2nd round applicants have a better chance at getting an interview. I got an interview at UCSF and hoping that works out. But if that doesn't, maybe you'll see me on this forum again next year. Congratulation and best of luck to all of you who got interviews!!
Hi everyone, current GEPN here.
Just wanted to extend my congrats to all of those who have recieved an invitation for a interview. If you haven't, don't let that deter you, there are a lot of great schools out there and there are people who've tried 2 or 3 times, but after the last try got in. Don't give up!
I remember the excitement and anxiety that I had last year, so if you guys have any questions feel free to ask and I'll try my best to respond as best and fast as I can!
I guess now to the next school. But its still odd to me being that I have seen no one get an Oncology interview. Weird.

Hello there...
I haven't either, but I didn't get an email so I'm moving on :-( I can't remember where else you had mentioned you applied? I'm thinking of just getting the BSN @ this point. Still some open schools for that & since I have my bacherlors, I don't wish to go for the 2 year ADN..
Congrats to all of you who got an interview..See you for my DNP!!
Angiebaby24,
Yea, I find it super weird not one person on here was invited to interview for oncology. I am wondering if they didn't except anyone this year for the speciality, I know its new to their program. I am hoping the letter shed's some light on why I didn't get in because it just baffles me that no one here is for oncology. Anywho, I am just moving on too. I have also applied to Columbia, NYU, and Hawaii. Hopefully one of those work out for me. Good luck with your future plans!
When I spoke to her, she told me that they would not review our folders to let us know what we could improve upon...So I dont really see why I should apply again, if I can't even show that I've made myself a better applicant. I know my one weakness was my undergrad GPA and unfortunately I can't do anything to fix that now.

I will keep you posted! My number one choice is Columbia, but I know its super competitive so I am trying not to get my hopes up. NYU doesn't have an oncology program, but they have an adult/hoslitic NP program which I think would be great too. I am applying to FNP for Hawaii. Its unfortunate that not many schools have oncology programs, so I gotta picks second routes too. I am just hoping one of these work out, I can't even imagine going through this whole process again. Finger Crossed! Have a great holiday and let me know where you decide on!
Got an interview for Pediatrics on Jan 20th! Can't wait to meet everyone!!
So, I am new to this site, but I heard about my interview status early yesterday morning. Where else are people applying/have they heard from other schools?
This message is for Eburke1122:Hey! I'm doing the peds specialty and my interview is on that date too!! Where are you coming from? Hopefully the weather won't ruin travel arrangements! Where else did you apply?

don't be bummed! you should be so proud of yourself for getting an interview at UCSF!!!! I couldn't get all of my app materials completed by September 1 since at that point I was missing the GREs... what program track are you doing?

Hi! Just out of curiosity, does the amount of interviews they offer depend on specialty? I received one and my specialty track is Peds... but I was just curious as to how many interviewees actually end up being accepted... What program are you in? Do you love it? Did it take time to adjust to New Haven?

She told me that those who didn't get interviews would get letters, so I'm assuming rejection.
