It didn't look like there was a thread for 2011 Yale GEPN applicants. Since the application recently opened, I thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is starting to work on their application.
Anyone else out there?
Kerry R,
Don't worry I am in the same boat as you. Today I officially graduated, but I feel no joy because I have yet to get an e-mail either. I am hoping what others say is true and there are more going to be sent out tomorrow, because I have yet to see anyone from my speciality; Oncology get any e-mails. I am trying to stay positive, but I am feeling so down and like all my hard work didn't pay off
Kah5209; When did you call and ask them about e-mails tomorrow? Did they mention if they just hadn't gotten to send out all e-mails today?
Maybe! Although mine isn't one of those, so maybe not :-) I have been trying to give myself pep talks all day. "When one door closes another one opens" "Maybe you will find another specialty you love" "BSN to MSN isn't so bad, you will have more letters after your name" etc...etc...but my heart really wants to be at Yale.

I have been doing the same thing. I'm waiting for midwifery but some other people on here have already gotten an email today. They all seemed to be from the west coast though...Anywho I hope tomorrow brings better news for us. = )
Yea, I totally understand. I have been trying to also keep positive all day, but sometimes I just think " All this hard work; only to be rejected." I applied to other schools, but like you had my heart set on Yale. I will just keep reminding myself everything happens for a reason, and if I don't get an e-mail tomorrow than things weren't meant to be. Good luck tomorrow and I hope you get an invite!
Williams -I would love to chat and compare notes! I applied to 8 schools because I am at the 5 year GRE mark, have no desire to take the GRE over again, and arranged my work and life pretty much around going to nursing school in the summer or fall - so I have to get into a program this cycle and honestly had no idea how I compared in qualifications to the general applicant pool, so didn't want to put all of my eggs into one basket. I also applied to Boston College, OHSU (Oregon), UCSF (interview a week after Yale's!), Columbia, USD (since I live in San Diego - last resort though as they do not allow you to specialize, just receive a general MSN), Rochester, and VCU (Virginia). What about you? If you want to email me personally, my email is [email protected] - it would really be great to chat and "study" together =0
Hi Tanya & Williams,
Another psych applicant here...Got an interview email today! I actually live here in New Haven (hubbie is working on phd at Yale). We should definitely get together when you are in town. My interview is actually on Jan. 11th, but that may be just because I'm local??? If you need any travel questions answered, I'm happy to help - that goes for anyone else too. Good luck everyone!!!
No problem, though there's info above that seems useful about taking the bus from Bradley to New Haven. I'm NOT the one to ask about fashion, though, hah! Good luck with your interview!
Try CT Limo (it's a shuttle service), they usually have good rates. Also, January is COLD and icy. Put your nice shoes on only after you have arrived at your destination. Also, not sure about YSN, but other Yale buildings tend to be on the warm side in the winter, i.e. wear layers so you won't sweat to death indoors.

Hi Tanya,
I'm in San Diego. I'm still trying to sort out my travel plans. Last flight out of New Haven is 3pm, and the last flight out of Hartford is 5:30pm... looks like I'll have to stay an additional night and leave in the morning?
It's looking like i have to miss three workdays right now, which is really inconvenient; still, I'm excited I got an interview. :)
