Yale GEPN Applicants 2011

Published

It didn't look like there was a thread for 2011 Yale GEPN applicants. Since the application recently opened, I thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is starting to work on their application.

Anyone else out there?

last year i was waitlisted, i flew out there and did the whole orientation. I have gotten another interview this year... does anyone know if it makes a big difference being there in person?? If it does I am willing to pay the money to go again, otherwise i am from the Bay Area (oakland) and it is expensive to go out there again. thoughts??

Midwifery Interview for the 20th...

Anyone else who applied to the FNP track have their interview on the 21st?

Has anyone heard yet if they have been rejected? I haven't gotten any emails yet....

@Hopeful- I applied to FNP, but I didn't get an email yet either. I'm trying not to worry because they said Friday, which leads me to believe that they are just beginning to send emails today and won't be fininished until Friday. (Not that that makes it any easier to wait!) They do have about 200 personalized emails to send out...

Has anyone heard yet if they have been rejected? I haven't gotten any emails yet....

Keep your chin up! If you did not get invited for an interview, they will notify you via USPS rather than email - they only email if you have been selected. Keep checking your email - I have been doing it obsessively for the past week, pretty much every hour =0

Hi Tanya! I know I rarely ever find psych people! I live in NYC so I'm going to take a train in on the 19th and stay overnight for my interview on the 20th. We should talk and compare notes!!! Where else did you apply?

Williams -

I would love to chat and compare notes! I applied to 8 schools because I am at the 5 year GRE mark, have no desire to take the GRE over again, and arranged my work and life pretty much around going to nursing school in the summer or fall - so I have to get into a program this cycle and honestly had no idea how I compared in qualifications to the general applicant pool, so didn't want to put all of my eggs into one basket. I also applied to Boston College, OHSU (Oregon), UCSF (interview a week after Yale's!), Columbia, USD (since I live in San Diego - last resort though as they do not allow you to specialize, just receive a general MSN), Rochester, and VCU (Virginia). What about you? If you want to email me personally, my email is [email protected] - it would really be great to chat and "study" together =0

Hi everyone!

I just received an email for an interview in January!! I applied for the pediatrics specialty, however - I had to switch from an in-person interview to a phone interview because the interview is on a school day (and my winter break would have already ended by then). Do you think this will harm my chances of getting in? Or do you think phone interviews are OK?

Thanks! I would love to talk with anyone who has also gotten interviews to prepare for it!

Good luck everyone!!

Midwifery interview for the 27th! Wahoo!!!! Jbean, see you then!

Heather

Hello all! I have been lurking for quite some time with the fear of jinxing myself if I joined, but today I took the plunge. :-) I am an ANP/GNP hopeful. I called today; they said they are sending emails today and tomorrow, and usps rejection letters were mailed today. I have probably checked my email 200 times today. Here's to hoping for full inboxes this evening. :-)

I didn't get an invite. I've never been this sad ever I think. I don't know how I can make myself more competitive. I'm so sad. I don't know what even to do. I feel like a kid who just woke up on Christmas to find everyone opening gifts and being the one who got coal. I can't even think staight now.

Kerry

Kerry, they told me they will be sending emails tomorrow as well!
